Nathan Gissing of Chelsea transfers page on Instagram is saying it’s this afternoon and if not next Tuesday.
Another possibility is that personal terms are not agreeable yet. That could explain why our bid is still on the table and that we have not walked away from the deal even when supposedly Caicedo has said he only wants Chelsea. Which meant he had not said that, and that both parties are still thrashing out personal terms?
There is every chance we are trying to thrash out personal terms it’s evident that anything the player thinks is coming from people who want him to go to Chelsea.
We are saying nothing doesn’t mean we are not doing something.
brighton are the cunts here.
telling everyone it was an auction then went back on it.
CFC will fiddle the books to get this through.
It was an auction, we won. But nothing Brighton will do if the player refuses to come (if the rumours are true of course). Its not like Sothebys where you are buying an auctioned painting or vase or shit that cannot refuse…
Everyman and his dog who is anyway related to Chelsea are peddling a version of a story which can only be seen as a please drop out measure.
reminds me of ebay when winning but the seller feels like its not enough and the item gets deleted and re-listed
Yup it’s notable even the likes of Reddy have stepped away from that narrative.
No one is going seem credible without giving that narrative it’s source.
i dont really care if we sign him just want to get one over chelsea and all their chavy
“cry more” cunts on twitter
Brighton didn’t tell anyone it was an auction. If they did, it was a desperate attempt to gain some control of the situation whilst the “big clubs” pick over the fruits of their good work.
Two years ago, the only people who’d seen Caicedo play ten games were his mother, Brighton’s scouts and maybe a handful of Belgians who were probably too drunk to remember it anyway. 100% true.
Chelsea still hasn’t made a bid that betters our bid. Let that sink in. They do one over 115 and we do it at 120 just to make them piss in their pants more. If they are struggling to get over 110 , there’s no way they can outbid us.
i really want that to happen…
Breaking…CFC have just bid £115m…but hang on were are hearing LFC have bid £120m…piss. boiled.
Well they were called Beerschot
I actually saw a bloke in Barcelona doing both things at once as he followed a young girl out of the train station. Didn’t have his knob on display but pretty grim all the same…
Teams were in for him seriously in January and Moises wanted away.
Then Jan and Feb he continued to play well. In March he inexplicably signs a 5 year deal with apparently no release clause. Agent/player stupidity on high alert already.
Come summer a couple of months later, and a mess of their own making is in play.
Good player, but doesn’t seem the brightest with agent meddling as well. Chelsea will obviously pay more basic wage/agent fees/etc.
He’d fit in well, and overpaying some is probably needed to get him, but personally I think the fee we’ve agreed is already more than generous. If Moises wants more money, off to the plastics for the fella.
Well the fee is and that isn’t an issue as Brighton accepted it.
None of us really know to be fair.
Player ends up staying at Brighton until Jan, then leaves for Chavski.
I think it’s bloody insane. Needs must, apparently.
On the club level it is clear to see what has happened. Chelsea bid. Not accepted. Presumably they did a lot of work with the player, agreeing terms and communicating all along. Crucially, they didn’t close anything with Brighton.
So We bid. Accepted. We blew their offer out of the water.
If Chelsea had the means to better our bid, they would have done. So now they are scrambling around, seeing if they can cobble something together. So far they haven’t done that, and they have been briefing everyone that the player only wants them, to try to get us to drop out.
The perspective of the player himself is a lot less clear, so I won’t form a judgment there. Caicedo wants a big club, that much is clear. But beyond that, to what degree he is steering things is unknown. It is more likely that he is being buffetted around by unscrupulous agents and hangers on, who all have their own interests and all want a big payday.
The sooner that side of the game is better regulated, the better.
