The first TV network that reverts back to having a single non-biased commentator explaining the match as it unfolds… IMO, would become the favourite station overnight with fans across the globe.
Why have two or three bitter and twisted co-commentators talking over every move, or decision, but talking as though we are kindergarten age needing everything explained in ABC detail…
I listen to the audio of Steve Hunter for every single LFC game.
Timing is never great between the ‘sound switched off’ TV coverage, and the words that come out of his mouth, but it is a price worth paying to hear a devoted, passionate LFC fan to the core that he is, but also the most fair-minded, knowledgeable voice that has never once raised my blood pressure for the wrong reasons…
Football games, certainly the high volume of them, to me anyhow, are becoming less palatable by the season… The pundits in particular, are one of the main reasons of this…
Micah Richards anyone…!!
Yeah, I realised how much I enjoyed this when they used to do it on Italian football. ITV even did it for one of the 2am World Cup games and it just felt like a friendly company for the evening. A bit like a sensible radio host such as Bob Harris.
Mark Chapman is probably favourite… Although, MOTD is getting a kick up the arse by many viewers because it has not moved with the times for decades… Maybe that is/was the charm of it, or, the BBC may use this juncture to come up with a new format - If @Maria or @Wilkored08 are unavailable, maybe Salma Hayek would be next best choice :0)
Is Alex Scott the female commentator that they occasionally have on Sky? She’s quite good at that, although I don’t know what her presenting skills are like.
