No surprises there.

A more anodyne bunch you couldn’t hope to meet.

I rather like them as presenters. It does look like it helps if your father was a professional footballer to get your toe in the door.

Nepotism in journalism?

Naaaaaaaaa…

Anodyne is indeed the perfect word for these 3. Boring, boring boring. BBC determined to find the 3 least confrontational or controversial presenters they can.

Blonde hair and a Dad who was once a footballer. Perfect qualifications. Sign here please ladies.

What’s the alternative? Both Cates and Chapman are decent presenters.

We would be getting Jenas if he hadn’t flashed his cock to several colleagues.

I think that is the main the point. I listened to Gary Lineker’s podcast for a while and gave up, not because of him, but because his regular co-presenters were Alan Shearer, who just spouts crap, and Micah Richards, who essentially just laughs hysterically all the time.

It’s quite odd, as Lineker’s podcast company is usually very on the ball, with people who have some sort of in depth knowledge of their subject. With his own show, he has gone for mates spouting shite about footie. I mean, that’s what I come here for.

I think these comments are unfair. Kelly Cates is a brilliant presenter. Mark Chapman also excellent- has a curious approach which provides far more insight than the former pros. Gabby is ok and has loads of experience presenting big events.

Who would all you moaners rather have?

It’s quite odd, because I’m pretty sure some of these moaners would also be complaining about how it’s all about the bantz with the existing crew and not the actual football and discussions around the football.

Both Cates and Logan grew up in football families - they know their stuff and are perfect for MoTD.
They are head and shoulders above any other female football presenters - some of the stuff they say/mention is absolute twaddle.

It’s a shame he’s currently employed, otherwise it would be great to have a Mourinho vs Rafa standoff on these.

Why have yesterday’s men when you can have Roy Keane and Graeme …. Never mind.

I can’t do with ex Liverpool players when they are on our games. They think they cant look to be biased so go to the other extreme and make themselves look a bit foolish at times Carragher and McManaman are the worst for this.

I’d have Warnock above those two. He’s truly abysmal.

Yeah. The annoying thing with nepotism is it often works by giving someone early exposure to something that allows the time and experience to develop their craft to the point they get eventually get good positions on merit. I would imagine there is a whole generation of people who have watched and appreciated the work of Logan and Cates who either dont know they have a famous footballing dad or in the case of Gabby would say “Terry who?”

Fortunately dont suffer him much.

This nepotism accusation is ridiculous. We’re not talking about Donald Trump here. Kenny didn’t appoint Kelly, or use his power/influence to get her a job (the definition of nepotism). He hates the media ffs.

Maybe insights from being the daughter of one of the greatest ever footballers helped her become a good interviewer. But she wouldn’t have climbed the ladder if she wasn’t bloody good at it.
