Absolutely. And he was mostly right footed, but spent his career mostly on the left side of defence, very capable with his left. One of the most complete defenders the game has seen.

The fact that results arenât perfectly aligned to how much money each team spent (and itâs not only one year/summer window that matters), wow⌠itâs not really a discovery, is it? Consistent money in the long run surely helps and increases your chances, but itâs far from straightforward like that.

IMO, Carragher is the worst pundit for a number of reasons. Although give it 3months, with Rooney coming up fast on the rails, this title will have probably changed hands.
