Motorsports - F1, Superbikes etc

RedBull used to be the fun and happy team to watch, but winning champions got to their heads. Helmut Marco is the worse of the lot from them. Verstappen has been dangerous, overly aggressive and hasn’t changed one bit. I thought that he matured a bit more but the progress seemed to be on the slow side. For Merc, can’t stand them neither, particularly Wolff. Don’t even get me started on Hamster. I used to like him early in his career and thought that he was a breath of fresh air, the feeling has soured significantly with the pissy fit between him and Alonso and onwards.

Massive swinging of handbags between the teams and drivers this season, and over the top in today’s race. It felt like I was watching a 3rd rate US soap opera.

Now, we are adding incompetent race director and stewards, inconsistency ruling, and more stupid rules (allowing cars to be fixed or new tyres really annoyed me…that advantage played out well for Hamster in the past and an advantage for Max earlier in the race). Even with some of their mistakes, I wish for the iron fist of Aussies Supercars consistency and stewards group.

Let me guess a Ferrari fan … :sunglasses:

 Those Italian are no fun these days!

Verstappen fucking brake tested him. What a twat.

Seriously, he should already be heading for a race ban for all the shit he’s pulled this season.

Max slow down, not brake check.
I am not defending Max (he is a jerk of a driver in my eyes), but Hamster is not a saint neither and often makes mountains out of molehills.

OMG nauty Verstappen does it again. Better get used to it @Kopstar your boy will be soon old news Verstappen is the future, better stop following F1. :innocent:

No driver has received more penalty points in their entire career than Verstappen. And he’s lucky he hasn’t been given twice as many. He’s extremely talented, extremely quick, but he’s dangerous and entitled.

Of course F1 will continue beyond Hamilton, but he’s currently setting benchmarks that will never be equalled.

Read the judgment from the stewards who had the data.

In deciding to penalise the driver of Car 33, the key point for the Stewards was that the driver of Car 33 then braked suddenly (69 bar) and significantly, resulting in 2.4g deceleration.

Hamilton drove Verstappen off the track at Silverstone without that it was already game set and match in favor of Verstappen. The hypocrite towards Verstappen from the UK fanboys is astonishing and this is coming from someone who just looks at it from a distance.

Realy, guys, they are both little shits with an enormous ego that go all the way to win. Nothing wrong with that IMO.

Again , just goes to show what a dangerous driver Max is. The FIA should have been looking at a points penalty for him really.

This is now 4 races that Max has attempted to take Lewis out or has succeeded in taking Max out. Silverstone is a racing incident and Hamilton doesn’t have a history of dangerous driving.

Verstappen is willing to go further than Hamilton, taking it to an unsafe place. As such I think he’s a cock and should be censured more. He is fast, talented, and will be world champion, if not this year then soon enough.

He won’t get near to Hamilton’s haul but has every chance of being the best of his generation.

It’s a classic case of an old master fending off a young pretender. In time the young pretender will take the crown. Whether that’s this season or next, or later again, remains to be seen.

And it’s hilarious seeing the mental gymnastics Verstappen fans try to make out that Hamilton is just as dangerous a driver as Max is based on one arguable incident in Silverstone (Where Hamilton did leave him room there)

Max has 4-5 such incidents every year throughout his f1 career. Hamilton is one of the safest drivers on the grid in that regard.

Next season is again a free for all. If Ferrari and Mclaren up their game significantly , Then Max might not win a championship. It’s not guaranteed that Max will win a championship over his career. Very Quick and talented drivers like Frentzen didn’t have the luck either.

Thank you for putting it more eloquent than I even can mate. :+1:

May the best driver on the day in the last race win, nuff 'said.

Going to be a big week of build up to this weekends Grande finale/

As it stands, Max is leading the championship by way of wins, so Lewis has to finish ahead of him on track, and in at least 9th place, to nab the championship (10th only good enough if Max doesn’t get fastest lap).

If Mercedes have the faster car, I can see Max doing much more of the same in terms of driving to the limit (dangerouly). Lewis has it all to lose if he tangles with Max. Max only loses it all if he takes himself out if they make contact but Lewis carries on and finishes in the points. If both end up with DNFs it’ll be Max’s title.

Its going to be an exciting one! Would be some drama if Max and Lewis make contact and they both end up out.

I expect incident, but I really hope they both finish the race and at that point, may the best man win. Fascinating stuff.

Max gets pole, and starts on the soft tyre (red wall), after he flat spotted his final set of new mediums (yellow wall) in Q2.

Lewis 2nd, and on the mediums. Great qualifying session from Red Bull with the towing and team work they used.

Norris 3rd, Perez 4th, Bottas 5th.

Strategy will be key tomorrow, along with race pace, Max should get away well on the reds, leaving Lewis behind at the start. Strategy will play a big part, esp with the different tyres from the start. Expect any early safety cars to cause chaos with tyre decisions.

Here’s hoping for a Lewis masterclass tomorrow and a breaking of another record and big history making, that I didn’t think was possible a few years ago.

I think Lewis is in a great position here. He’ll go longer than Max, probably sensible to let Max lead off so he can see him. He’ll be able to keep within a couple of seconds even on mediums. Max will then need to pit for hards, Lewis can put in some quick final laps on his mediums then pit for his set of hards if he’ll emerge in the lead or softs if he’ll come out behind.

Sainz is 5th Bottas 6th. Pretty useless this Bottas chap.

Yep Bottas disappointing. He should have been amongst it to help his teammate, but as it stands he is too far back.

My take is similar to Kopstar. Lewis is better off behind, so Verstappen doesn’t take him out early on with reckless driving. Stay close, stay safe, stay out longer. Try to build a lead so you can then pit and still come out ahead. It will be fascinating to see what happens.

There’s more interest in this one than there has been in years. Old pro, one of if not the best there has ever been. Going for a record haul of titles. Young pretender to the throne, very talented, slightly reckless, but a man on a mission, eager to make his mark. Cars evenly matched, as near as; drivers evenly matched, as near as…

All down to the final race. I just hope it is settled by fair means, and then at that point, may the best man win.
