Naby KEITA: 2021/22

Je suis d’accord.

Moi aussi

It’s becoming tiresome. It’s like some are waiting to pounce on him for some personal vendetta. When he plays, you get multiple posts on how he’s not contributing anything, how he’s been shit, couldn’t pass, assist, score, track back, etc. etc. When he doesn’t play and if he’s on bench, he’s shit again to not even play. Everyone needs one or the other scapegoat to vent out for us not performing. Naby is the favorite; Mane second in line now.

And Taki. We would be scoring left, right and centre had we sold all three of them and got Mbappe, Haaland, Sarr, Suarez and Traore. It’s ridiculous these guys aren’t putting in transfer requests and leaving the club when we don’t want them. FSG are inhumane as well for making them stay here when we fans clearly want them out. Wasting club’s resources.

On the other hand, if you are good you aren’t supposed to leave, because loyalty etc etc.

Don’t think I’ve ever seen those two words in the same sentence before.

My scapegoat is currently Allison. Bloke gets lauded but he’s scored one goal and I can’t remember the last time he got an assist. He’s probably played over 100 games FFS - Keita and Ox have better figures without a Brazilian passport or getting half the praise. Bloke just isn’t creative enough considering how much time he gets on the ball.

I find it hard to understand why Naby was left out just when he’s in a good moment. It looks even weirder as he was left out for a teenager who, as talented he is, has no experience whatsoever of big games. I understand that Elliot played reasonably well against Chelsea, but to take such a decision before such a tough game looks weird to me.

Obviously, Klopp (or maybe the medical team), might have seen something which prompted them to keep him on the bench. He was really good in the two first games and was coming into the groove, so I’d love to hear an explanation from Klopp why he omitted him.

Didn’t he pass to Salah once for him to score…
then ran the length of the pitch to join in the goal celebrations…!
Just saying is all… but yeah I agree, his stats are shit :joy:

My favourite is when he is on the bench it’s because he is not good enough. When he plays it’s because he is in the shop window

You are harsh mate. Look at his forward pass percentage. He never passes back

Anyway, so happy that this thread getting posts without Keita getting injured.

I do t think many slam him.

He is just distinctly average whenever he does play.
In the 3 years he has been here, granted he has been injured a lot of the time but when he does play he is unremarkable.

When you have a price tag of 55m (or whatever it was) I think fans are allowed to expect a bit more.

There ain’t a game in his time here where I’ve though “keita was unplayable today” perhaps maybe his debut (was it against West Ham?) but for me it’s not good enough for his price tag etc

I still hope he comes good, however after 3 years I have no confidence that he can keep himself fit, let alone command a starting birth in our midfield

This hits the nail on the head.

Any player can get injured- (sh)it happens. But if a player cost over £50m, you’d expect him to be the bee’s knees when he does play and, while Naby has had a few good games, there aren’t any that really stand out.

I completely get why we signed him but, so far, it simply hasn’t happened for him here.

Apparently , with two international games looming , Klopp didn’t want to give him another 90mins after back to back performances.

“Agents” who are on Twitter day and night…

This did cross my mind and in my mind is a valid point.

Also, our primary mid options habe been slow coming back. First game of the season we all appreciated it was a win achieved with a second string midfield. With Fab now off compassionate leave and Hendo returning fitness those lads were always likely to see more of the bench.

Ok thanks, that makes it plausible. :+1:t2:

Guinea-morocco postponed because of a coup d’état.

Someone will surely blame naby for this

The coup was organised by a bunch of Liverpool fans who wanted to avoid Naby getting injured again.

The new government’s policies include the compulsory singing of YNWA before breakfast, and all first born children are to be christened Kenny.

Common sense policies for a brighter future.
