For some reason, people don’t want to work in abattoirs, slaughtering animals. Strange that isn’t it?
It’s not a hard concept.
Animals killed in slaughterhouses are killed to standards allowing them to be sold for human consumption.
Animals killed by farmers aren’t, so are wasted time and money
It’s great that the mother and baby are both healthy. However, foolhardy? She risked placing herself and the unborn in medical trouble while riding to the hospital. (I know that people would say the same about driving to the hospital too.)

I remember having read about how women farmers in some cultures used to give birth in the fields and continue working until the day was over. Those are highly impressive feats.
