It is a dreadful game. I hope as few as possible people buy it so Bioware can change course from their current attrocious course.

Reviews for Stalker 2 starting to come in, so far the consensus seems to be that it’s very good, adheres to the spirit of the original but is very buggy. There’s a large day 1 patch to address some of the issues though.

watching someone on twitch play it who is a big stalker fan, and he is loving it,

Someone has just posted that the game is really bugged later on in the game and unfinishable, apparently the reviews are also saying that.

Fortunately I have Game Pass so shall be playing it via that without shelling out anything (extra) for it, will feed back once I have a chance to sink my teeth into it.

Only an hour or so into Stalker 2, but I’m loving it so far.

So far I have:

  • been beaten half to death by an invisible mutant
  • had my face chewed off by a mutant pig
  • crept half-terrified around abandoned facilities in the dark
  • got blown up then electrocuted by an anomaly I’d been asked to scan (lesson learned, after setting up the scanner: RUN :joy: )
  • had an invisible anomaly chase me around a wrecked ship throwing shit at my head while I sprinted around in a panic scavenging supplies
  • got shot in the face by a group of bandits I’d wandered up to thinking they might be friendlies

Feels so good to be back in the Zone.

From a technical standpoint I haven’t experienced any issues so far, though there are enough Steam reviews from people that have that makes this a cautious recommendation. However, if you’re a fan of the original games and/or using Game Pass, have at it!

Yes, I would imagine a lot of the issues will be resolved fairly quickly. I heard yesterday that they will be launching a roadmap shortly with details of loads of free content they plan to release for the game.
