Philippe Coutinho

I think we’ll still be seeing these stories in 20 years time; ‘Barca to pay another £10mil to Liverpool if Coutinho meets guests at a stadium tour’.

Almost good enough to persuade a European giant to pay nearly £150m for him.

They are called football fans…. But not anyone on here of course

It’s even funnier when you think about him not being their biggest transfer failure in the past few years…

Ah I dunno… he is pretty high up there

Griezmann and Dembele would be higher imo

Oh no doubt he’s up there, but I think the Griezmann one is easily worse. Dembele would be pretty close too. Failing that massively, within such a short period of time, is pretty awful.

Mmm it’s debatable but all 3 were shit and with Phil
Costing the most…. Who knows.

Subjective I guess

Other than the expensive failures, they have had some really weird ones over the years like Braithwaite and Douglas.

I think we we were very wise, I think the back injury was worse than we thought.

So he wasn’t faking it to force the transfer through!!!

It shows mental Barca are. To keep spending 100m plus on lads the decide are shite minutes after putting on the shirt is pretty astonishing.

In my opinion he was one of the most over rated player in recent years.

At the time he was basically the o l’y player we had who can beat a man and curl it in top bins.

We’ve moved on since then but he was good. Klopp wanted him to stay and other than a stupid bud from Barca (hahahaha) he would have stayed

I have a feeling, Rafa will try to take him to Everton on loan in January.

I really had mixed emotions reading that. Yes, he left under a cloud, and he behaved badly, but I’ll never forget how good he was for us for a time. Especially as it was at a time when we didn’t have a lot to cheer.
I hope every player angling for a move away is reminded of this story.

Yep Cuntinho should remain a cautionary tale for footballers thinking the grass is greener away from Anfield.

Form the article kindly linked by @Kopstar

disrupting the team’s rhythm by taking too many touches and reduced to hopeful long-range strikes with sporadic success - leading social media wits to sarcastically dub him 'Shootinho

How is that any different to what he used to so for us? There is something in the PL that allows players to get away with this but he was brutally exposed in Spain. Barcelona should have done their homework a little better I feel, but we know that already.
