I wonder if Jota realised he was actually ‘cupping’ his ear towards the Liverpool fans, after he scored?
You’ve got a fair to go to get to the levels of @SBYM or @PeachesEnRegalia but you’ve definitely got potential
Wtf are Souness and Merson debating here??
Merson - “If City win every game they win the league.”
Souness - “If Liverpool win every game they win the league.”
No shit sherlies…why is there so much back and forth about that
It was because Merson couldn’t seem to understand, that the title is actually in Liverpool’s hands now, if we win every game. Souness was attempting to explain the maths, but Merson wasn’t having it.
I wouldn’t begrudge Merson. Alcohol abuse fried the few brain cells he had to begin with.
Also spare a thought for those poor bastards at Bluemoon, who must be going crazy (not that they weren’t already) watching us erode their advantage without seemingly breaking a sweat.
Last but not least, the only possible reaction to Klopp saying that he’ll knock down anyone questioning TAA’s defensive prowess:
Ramsdale is a typical England/Average keeper who the UK media love. The reaction to his save against Leicester from a header was hysterical. It was right by him but he managed to make it look spectacular and gives away a corner.
Ali just catches it and starts another attack.
Yes, I’m guessing it was a reference to wanting to hear them sing his song. I think that’s the first time he’s scored since we started singing it.
So that was one of those games where if you are in the ground you get a different view as opposed to watching it on TV and hearing Tyler and Neville spout bollocks. They were going on and on about how great Arsenal were but failed to say/notice they had zero shots on target. It was a comfortable half for us. We started well and yes we did let them back in but we never looked like conceding and Ali has more touches with his feet than his hands.
2nd half Ali finally has to make a (great) save and 14 seconds later we were 1 up. That deflated Arsenal and they immediately looked leggy as they aren’t used to playing every 3/4 days and normally get 2 weeks off between games. They now don’t play for nearly 3 weeks again due to no FA Cup and inter break.
Martenelli looks a great player but that’s all Arsenal seemed to have - give to to Martenelli and hopefully he’ll do something.
It was getting ridiculous, with Tyler and Neville, they made no attempt to hide their bias towards Arsenal all night. They were so deflated when Liverpool scored as well. I don’t know why we can’t have the option of watching the games, without commentary, it’s not needed, not by me anyway.
I don’t know why we can’t have the option of watching the games, without commentary,
There is a button on all remotes called Mute, which I tend to find it most useful when Neville is commentating
Definitely. Like everyone I’m a huge fan of their partnership.
Most games, that’s what I do. What I meant was, no commentary, but we can still hear the crowd. When I go to a match, I don’t have Tyler and Neville in my ear.
See Burnley away a couple of seasons ago for an example of just that. Ali made a fantasic save right in the angle of crossbar and post. He collected and realeased the ball immediately and seconds later we’d scored. It’s up there among the many brilliant goals we’ve scored over the years.
I had an ‘Astro Sports’ stream on with Peter Drury and Andy Townsend which wasn’t a bad watch/listen. At HT and post match they had Alan Smith and Danny Murphy in what looked like a split screen Zoom call. That wasn’t bad either. It seemed because of the short time delay that the ‘Pundits’ had a moment to consider their answer and so were more able to answer more thoughtfully.
I don’t really like Danny Murphy on MOTD but he came across a lot better last night. Perhaps not having to share a studio with Lineker, Shearer and others was better for him. I’ve always found Alan Smith to be OK. As much as he’s very passionate when doing Arsenal or Leicester co-comms or punditry, he’s also very fair.
My take was that Arsenal did a good containing job in the first half. They denied us space and worked hard to close us down but they provided no threat. Also, we were conservatively set up. Trent and Robbo weren’t getting forward as much. I think we were wary of Saka and Martinelli on the break. First half was a stalemate but I was confident we’d work it out for the second half and we did.
Since the start of the year we’ve become much tighter defensively. There have no more basketball games since Chelsea away. We were never going to win the league playing that way. Now we’re winning in the same manner as 19/20. Not conceding goals and coming up with quality moments to win games. It may not be as entertaining but it’s more effective. This is the best we’ve played for two years.

When we won the league it was on the back of lots and lots of 1-0 wins. I forget this a lot!
Goals get you top 4, defenses win your titles.
No doubt about the fact that Martinelli frightened the hell out of us , he really is a handful. We just needed to sharpen up a little in the second half which we did .Good finish from Jota who had been a bit quiet until then and a typical delicate touch from Bobby to clinch it shortly after.
I expect a few of changes for the week end but Forest are not a bad team and it is time we won the FA cup again so I expect we will go quite strong after all it is the International break the following week.
Whatever else Amazon represent, I love Amazon Prime’s coverage just for that.
Has anyone tried playing the ‘Alexander Arnold can’t defend’ drinking game during a match? I feel like this would be a sure fire way to get pissed. Far out stripping the old fashioned throw in’s and set pieces rule.
Not to be confused with the Alexander-Arnold actually making a defensive error drinking game, which is a very sober experience.
It did thank you.
She has cancer but the treatment is working it’s just the reaction has been an issue hence the hospitalisation.
I’ll say about Martinelli, Trent hung back in the league cup semi final say about 10 yards and though he was dangerous we seemed to null his threat, sounds like he didn’t this time but seems with what I read about Robbo that it was the idea, maybe Trent let the occasion get to him a bit was his second half better?
Probably works better on a big pitch like Emirates as I don’t remember much in eithier game at Anfield.
