To be fair even the first half was much improved on what we’ve seen, assured, keeping them pressed in, it required Jota to break the deadlock but the whole 90 was our best since last season.

Yeahhh!!! A really good, clever, cold-nosed second half on the back of the first one: staying well concentrated at the back, winning the physical battle in midfield, and taking the chances when they came along. Well done lads!
Jota’s introduction was the turning point, and Klopp got that one 100% right by turning towards a 4231 and giving Robbo a well needed rest before the next game. The most pleasing thing for me though is that Klopp’s trust in the Kabak-Phillips partnership is rewarded with a clean sheet tonight. A really good night for us all round!

There’s been a lot of games we’ve dominated possession without looking like scoring…Like tonight before Jota came on
Very nice. Up front flat, but Jota sparked it all to life. Good win. Maybe, just maybe, that top four is within reach.

Three things have made us look more like our old selves. First is Fabinho in midfield. We control games again now and the defence has better protection. Second is a settled CB partnership. Both Phillips and Kabak look rock solid and their confidence is growing with every game. Third is Jota coming back. He’s a born goal scorer. Right place, right time striker. Before he came on we dominated but didn’t look much like scoring.
Arsenal were totally pathetic. I can see why my Arsenal supporting mates are so depressed right now. Abysmal. Anyway, fuck 'em. It was just the game we needed before Real on Tuesday. Keep this up and the season might not be a complete write-off after all.
