It’s been a while but that was great. Fabinho was top class in the middle. Trent looked like last seasons Trent. Jota was terrific and gave the cutting edge we needed. Hope he starts on Tuesday.

I thought everyone was deployed to do a specific job and boy did they do it well everyone is saying that Arse were shit we made them look shit for 95 min. Bobby was everywhere and linked up with everybody was desperate to shut his detractors by trying too hard to score but when Jota was introduced it spread total panic in the arsenal ranks as they did not know who to pick up Bobby Millie and Gini and TAA mopped up all the 2nd 3rd balls to pin them down in their half.
The assessment of Nat Philips is changing by the match he is coming out of his shell more and more and is showing that he can actually pass the ball and his lack of speed is more than made up by his innate sense of positioning and Kabak is dovetailing with him perfectly so much so that Alisson seems a lot less likely to panic or flap about with those two in front of him. I have this vision that Nat Philips will come out as the hero in the CL final?

Fabinho to midfield is what VVD is to defence

An excellent evening’s work despite the ref giving the arse the benefit of the doubt on numerous occasions e.g. Pepe trying to stangle Millie (@ 15 mins); throwing the ball away after free kicks awarded / standing over the ball on our free kicks etc. etc. I was beginning to think (tw)attwell had left his cards at home until he booked Jota!

And was it me or were we shooting from outside the box more frequently (Millie, Fabinho, Bob)?

Onwards and up wards, let’s do the same to madrid.

Great win and important 3 points. Somehow we are with a chance for top 4 /after series of losses and poor displays/. But still nothing is in our hands, if Everton, West Ham and Spurs win their game in hand, we will be back to 8th in the league table.

Several thoughts:

Alisson looks like a pornstar from the 80’s.

Southgate did us a great favour. Trent needed that kick in the ass and those 3 weeks of rest. Yestarday he played his best match from the start of the season. There is passion and huge quality in his game once again.

Philips and Kabak looked rock solid and that is what happens when you have a settled center back partnership. Kabal needed time after his transfer, but with every passing game he looks more and more assured and solid and he just turned 21 on the 25th of March. I am not a big fan of signing players from the RB organization. Neither Keita, nor Minamino justified their transfers. If signing Konate means that we will sacrifice Kabak, I am all against signing the french defender /especially when the fee will be twice bigger for what we can sign Ozan/. Virgil, Matip, Gomez, Kabak and Philips are a very solid foundation not only for the next season, but also for the future.

Midfield was dominant and that is what you get when Fabinho plays at his best position. And if Milner is still chosen over Keita and AOC by the manager, it means that both of them must be worry about their future in the club. Fact is that neither Alex, nor Naby got even a minute yesterday.

Attack - Klopp’s biggest strength could be his biggest weakness sometimes. Juergen is very loyal and suportive to his old gurad and that is why he keeps playing Firmino. But at the moment it is pure madness to prefer Bobby over Diogo. If Jota wasn’t introduced I have huge doubts that we would have won yesterday. Six goals in 28 league games is not good enough for Bobby, especially when Mane is also struggling for goals and midfielders do not contribute enough.

Finally, well done to Klopp. The German deserves only support and loyalty from the fanbase.
The players looked hungry and united once again. Mane and Salah combined and you could see how strong Mo wanted to see Sadio score at the end of the match.
These are positive signs and the manager is responsible for the improved situation around the club, these 3 weeks were like a breath of fresh air for Klopp and his staff.

Still nothing special is achieved. We will meet the biggest power in world football next week and in the league we need consistency. Those two wins we will mean nothing, if we fail against Villa and Leeds in our next 2 diiffcult matches.

A good three points anytime down in London and someways back to normal form. Positives were our two centre backs and Trent looking quite solid. Fab back to where we need him the most. Jota sharpened up the front line as soon as he came on. Sadio is giving his all but looks a bit short of confidence when it comes to finishing. Bobby is still not firing like we know he can but slight improvement to how he’s been this season. Milly and Thiago both did well and worked their socks off. Gave Fabinho my MOM for his performance over 90 minutes.

Great performance against an admittedly abject Arsenal. Steady first half then took it away 2nd half. Looked more like our old selves with Trent pumping quality crosses in. And in Jota we have another gem who offers something different to the main front three. Fabinho and Thiago bossed midfield and the defence look solid. What’s not to like? Just need a few results to go our way and we’re back in the hunt for a European place next season.

Thought the ref was very good. Didn’t notice him too much.

Dominant first half in which Milly should have scored. When I saw Alisson with his tache I thought I was watching a porno! Not that I do such things!
Jota and Salah provided excellent goals, and Trent put in some gorgeous balls - how did Mane not score!
Each player did well. Our defence is looking like a well drilled unit. Fabs back in his rightful position has given us back what we lacked - security.
Moment of the match was LFC Player of the Month, Natt Philips who went on a marauding run into the Arsenal last third - a better ball into the box may have resulted in an assist.
We made Arsenal look worse than they really are, and we should have scored a few more goals. Arsenal got off lightly! However 3pts was what was required, so no real complaints!!!
Off to polish my pipes!!!
Have a happy Sunday all!!!

Quite happy to see Attwell replace Atkinson, find it odd that was his second only match of ours after the Brighton game and he wasn’t really at fault for that shit show.

Atkinson must be on 3 or 4 for us, anyhow Moss is fine on VAR he doesn’t have to run.
