Obviously not been his best season but his individual stats are still up with the best in the league. He’s played every single minute in the PL. Also scored his most goals in a season. Not finished.
I think we are seeing how he has carried his CB partners over the years. A small drop off from Virg really exposes them.
Yeah. You don’t stand by and watch the outstanding managerial candidate, that you wanted two years ago and who apparently would love the Liverpool job, go to Chelsea if you are planning to ditch the incumbent.
I had a cheery thought the other day that maybe the reason FSG are keen to hang on to Slot for another year is because they have Enrique lined up as both their contracts end.
Then I saw that he looks likely to pen an extension at PSG.
I don’t think it’s Luis Enrique or bust, like it felt at the time with Klopp. But I am really disappointed that we seem to be willing to pass on Alonso. That one seemed such an obvious jigsaw piece to pop into place.
If the team doesn’t perform well in the next 6 games next season, then we need to protest to FSG and say “it is ALL your fault” for ignoring Xabi Alonso, when he was sitting there, available
Clearly Slot has to go but I’m furious with our players for putting in that gutless performance. It was cowardly and lazy and an insult to the travelling support. Apart from Rio I can’t think of anyone who remotely performed. If I have to see Curtis ‘the Crab’ Jones strolling around and endlessly knocking it sideways for one more game I will lose my mind. The guy is as productive as a ball cone.
I said before the game that our lineup looked awful.
Not a single player other than Van Dijk in that side that I really rate as somebody to be starting and not a single player I think I´d want if I was building a title winning side next year. Rio is promising but my god we put out a team of mediocre players and led by a mediocre at best manager.
Now going into our last game worrying about Bournemouth. That says everything about our decline.
