But why does the ref run 50m for 50cm I was going apeshit at the ref for being so stupidly pedantic.
Especially with the amount of times players play the ball from the wrong position by yards and do not penalise it and don’t get me started on throw ins
I would argue that spending the time, as they did, to try and steal 50 cm, when they’ve got to kick it nearly 3,000 to 4,000 cm, suggests a gross lack of awareness on multiple levels. It wasn’t like they were rushing to play and it happened to be in the wrong place. They tried to con the ref by their foolish attempt of rub the line out and were even preparing to argue that the line had faded - which they failed to do… Also did they forget the game was being televised and that there are thousands of people watching? Just bizarre.
If they spent the time to think about the cross and getting in the cross as best as they could then that is cool as they’re thinking about the game and trying to win it. All the infantile carryon is just distracting and screams of desperation and might I add, against the team that was(is?) bottom of the league…
50 cm, when you’re kicking it nearly 4,000 cm - why, just why? It makes no sense as the error from the weather conditions alone (and the hex on our strikers for that game) would negated any miniscule advantage that might have been gained…
If I was the ref I’d have booked the pair of them!!
