Not a fair comparison. Wirtz is nowhere near Firmino. You cannot just be comparing the hardworking and selfless attitude of Bobby. Despite being that, Bobby still maintained an involvement in a goal per 130 minutes. Wirtz is not there. Yet. Nobody is disputing his hard work and it’s appreciated but in his position, he needs to be more than that. But as I also maintained, he has Iraola to work with to get up to speed this season.

I’ve got a feeling, the first name on Jurgen’s International team sheet debut will be Florian Wirtz… that is, if Jurgen was quoted correctly about Flo being a generational talent. If that is the case, the solution is simple with a player of his rare talent, build the LFC midfield/forward-line and entire team around him.
If Wirtz has the ability to slip 3 or 4 sublime goal scoring opportunities into our present ‘ghost-like’ forward line… then surely the problem is our forwards have to adapt… not the other way around..!

He’s actually in the second squad, so he will play the 3rd and 4th matches. I suspect that the makeup of that one will be designed to suit his abilities.

Didn’t Gravenberch replace Wirtz against Bournemouth?
A lot safer there than where Nyoni was positioned.
Of course Gravenberch came on to play deeper than Wirtz to help contain the Bournemouth midfield. It was noticeable that despite that he was less effective than Wirtz at hindering them even though he was fresh.
I am at a loss over what the coaches can do to improve Gravenberch’s play in our setup. He just doesn’t seem to have the tools.
Thinking that playing 4-3-3 formation will give more chances for the likes of Nyoni, Szoboszlai, McConnell and even Endo, but at the expense of Wirtz.
I dont see the point.
I dont think Endo is in Andoni’s plans at all given his age, contract status and having just come back from injury (and limited skill set). Nyoni is getting game time but is probably being brought through carefully as his performances somewhat justify more starts, Szob is already playing pretty much every game. That leaves McConnell - and i dont think he is good enough to drop Wirtz for or change fprmation for.
