“We just played City and Arsenal and now Liverpool, in a short amount of time,” Brentford manager Thomas Frank told BBC Sport.
"For me they’re a level above the two teams. They’re complete. Their work ethic, the way they track back, are good indicators.
“They’re so good all over the pitch. Such a threat going forward. It’s the best team in the Premier League and the world. They’re huge favourites to win it [the title].”
I’m back in Aus nursing jet lag etc so got up at 2 am to watch the second half. Nothing better than a late winner, other than two late winners!
Honestly, the subs were brilliant, difficult to criticise Slot, but geez that was cutting it fine. Would have been good to see more changes on 60 imo.
Overall, that was a timely boost to our chances with the Arsenal result. Having been to the UK living and breathing footy for three weeks and seen the reds and Anfield in person, I feel really invested in this season and really keen to see the reds keep the foot to the floor.
Two more wins on the spin and we’ve won it in the minds of our serious contenders. At that poin,t we might as well buy the trophy polish. Not that we don’t already have a boat load that’s used regularly. Could lend some to Everton for “Best new stadium of 2025” and some to United for “Best avoidance of a deserved relegation”
If you’re not fucking loving this, there’s something wrong with you.
In this match Virgil realised he also needs to make an effort and played very well. Like a captain giving confidence to the rest of the team. Good to see!
When you give the ball away, which everyone does, it is how you respond that matters and hopefully Trent carries on with the attitude on that recovery run.
I feel like Ibou is going to be huge down the stretch. So very happy for Darwin getting the brace and getting us those three points. We had their team in a vice like grip at times and just couldn’t put them away until Darwin dropped by. I thought Chiesa added a bright spark when he came on as well. If Darwin picks up and Chiesa starts contributing while Jota is away, we can really get on a roll now that Ibou is back in the fold. It shows what a great boost the team gets when we at least don’t concede while the attack isn’t firing at all cylinders. It lets the attack recover in real time in the middle of a match and then eventually put opponents away. If Forest doesn’t scorethat goal, I reckon we win that match easily. Ibou just needed a couple of matches to get his match legs back. Onwards and upwards.
Yeah all the talk is of Salah but if we win the title it rests on the performances of our defensive spine: there isn’t a stronger unit than Ibou, Virg and Ryan in world football right now
