Post match: Burnley v Liverpool (EPL 14/9/25 2pm)

What a load of genuine codswallop from the BBC(admittedly, I am just going by the headline) purple nose time was heavily influenced on the refs by that twat, whereas our current added on time is VAR and ref dictated

To be fair with the writer, he’s not complaining or even suggesting that we get too much extra-time. He’s merely lauding the ability of our lads to find the ressources in themselves to score these late goals.

Clickbait then framed in a way to create a comparison.

It’s the comparison that does’t sit well. As others have said, Slot time is earned, Fergi time was illegally manufactured in the jungles of South America.

It’s that kind of lazy comparison without nuance that gives the wrong impression and the unfair reputation. While we’re at it in terms of commentary whether written or spoken…Carragher is really really getting on my nerves this season in particular. It’s like he’s doubling down on the criticism at any possible chance. I was just listening to bits of what he commented on Sky live, when it was on live, I had muted out because I couldn’t stand listening to him. And I’m happy I didn’t because I probably would’ve smashed the TV.

I’ve completely tuned out of the punditry and gossip space. It’s also hard to give a shit about all their crying when we’re winning all the time.

🙄 Arne Slot admits Milos Kerkez was ‘not smart’ for diving against Burnley as he insisted it was the best decision to hook the left-back in the first half of #LFC’s win over Burnley.

🗣️ "I said already to him that it wasn’t smart. He replied to me that he felt some arm in his back. But let’s be clear, it wasn’t a penalty! It was a dive, he told me he felt something but it wasn’t a foul so it’s not smart.

🗣️ "Not only the yellow card but also afterwards he played the ball no foul at all, but the referee blew his whistle which can always happen. The reaction of the fans and their players trying to go to the referee, saying if you think this would be a foul then it’s a yellow, which would have been ridiculous of course.

🗣️ “Then it’s a risk. The only way we could have lost his game was if we were down to 10. 11 v 11 we could have drawn it, but we couldn’t lose it as they were barely over the halfway line. I didn’t want to take that risk. It was hard for Milos because normally you don’t have to take a player off if he has a yellow. But I felt this was the best choice.”

I wonder if the ref himself was also a deciding factor in this.
