Post Match: Chelsea v Liverpool (EPL 20/9/20 4.30pm)

That is the great silent film actor, Buster Keaton.

Cool. I was just quite curious. Seemed like a face for acting indeed. Perfect for Victorian vampires incidentally.

I know it’s a rhetorical question, but does he have something against Barkley? Seems to bully the poor guy every game.

Even with the sending off we showed that we will be a force this season, not that anyone here doubts that.
Made up with Fab slotting in so well at CB,with the arrival of Thiago that [particular spot may have been a headache for Klopp, not so,it would seem.
Good to see Sadio play so well,MOTM for me.
Hope that Hendo niggle was just that, but gave Thiago his debut with us,and he certainly did not disappoint.
Alisson didn’t have a lot to do but did show his Mojo might be back.

My nephew is a Chelski supporter, before the game we talked Kepa, I suggested that my hope was that we apply pressure to him. Turns out Klopp had the same idea, and it worked.
Fab was MOTM by a mile, Werner is quite the talent and Fab had him every step, perfect.
Thiago appears to be mostly Alonso with a little Mascherano thrown on, what an option he’ll be, my oh my.
Stonewall red, even my nephew agreed before the replay, only Lamps living on another planet disagrees. Easy against 10 but we dominated the first half, lets all thank Ali for keeping it pressure free for us by saving the penalty. Onwards.

Voted Alisson as MOTM for the two big saves.

P/S: 1st post in new home  :grinning:

Thiago is fucking class. What a stud. He’s going to be such a difference maker for us.

Whilst Manes 2nd focuses on it being gifted and the Kepa howler, he put in a great shift to add pressure.

You make your own luck.

And most teams don’t walk away from that joint with 3 points. Happy days.

Fantastic result and very happy with the performance. A training ground run around for 45 mins away from home against “title contenders”. Absolutely stress-free as soon as they had a player sent off.

Decent debut for Thiago - conceding a pen isn’t great, but the result was never in doubt either way. He looks like he’s going to be fun.

Nice of the Chavs to give Thiago and extra 45 min training session.

Not that he needed it.

and if mane hadnt scored the header then he would have won 1-0

I’ve just seen Lampard’s interview on BBC after the game, so funny. If this…if that…if the other…we draw 1-1.
Hey Frank! How about if Liverpool don’t turn up at all…you win the game!

Thinking back on it I’m pretty sure he actually said the same after the 5-3 too. Think he said something like “If they didn’t score five we would have won”.

The guy is honestly an embarrassment. He’s a worse manager than Solksjaer, who has at least proven an ability to set up his team resolutely, and that’s quite an achievement.

Wonder if Timo’s kids will be named Werner or if they will take their daddy’s name.

If we didn’t turn up Frank and his boys probably would have managed a 0-0 draw!

Thiago’s introduction at halftime, certainly provided more stimulus to our players, our forwards in particular. They were noticeably up and about. Just goes to show how a new player refreshes the attitude of the team.
Especially a world class one.

This would have particularly applied to Fabinho as well, as he was very impressive.

Competition for places in the midfield will be red hot I’d say.

You do realise that Chelsea were a player down from just before 1/2 time, don’t you?
What was the biggest factor? I reckon that after being squatted like a fly Mané had a bee in his bonnet and went out to get a hatrick. He was helped due to Thiago having soo much space even I could have played passes to VVD.
