So in the space of 4 days we’ve had Man City expressing disappointment about “inappropriate” chants from their supporters, Chelsea condemning “inappropriate” chants from their supporters, and the Premier League saying tragedy chanting is unacceptable.
It’s 2023 FFS, you can barely take a shit without some CCTV camera following you these days, if they wanted to take action they would.
There would be national outrage and media all over it if it were homophobic or racist chanting, so why not this?
Oh, as for the game, fell asleep and seems I missed fuck all.
I felt there was more going on than that. You don’t get right in someone’s face over something that happens regularly. Clearly felt guilty about it resulting in the public makeup and hugs. Not a huge issue just thought it might have reflected Hendo’s frustration at himself. He’s a club legend and sad to see his decline
This is the most worrying aspect for me, I never under a million years expected to see a Klopp team stop fighting for eachother and that’s what is happening. The body language throughout the team is shocking.
We seem to have more crisis team meetings than training this season.
I don’t think its a big deal. You dont have to be mates with everyone you work with and the ‘togetherness’ factor is way easier when you win every week.
If you wouldn’t mind, can you explain what you feel the problem with Henderson’s performances have been this season? I see a lot of “he’s shit”, “he needs to GTFO” from various posters on here and they merely ask for a new player in his stead as if simply bringing in a new face suddenly solves a team-wide crisis that is happening.
So I ask: What specifically do you see the issues of Henderson being? ‘Being shit’ doesn’t really cut it for me as an answer. I think if we as fans want to understand our issues (we don’t really need to. We just need Klopp to in reality) we shouldn’t just bury our heads in the sand thinking we can just solve everything in the transfer market and everything will be hunky-dory from the 12th August.
Inability to retain possession under pressure, inability to regain possession. If you’re a midfielder who can’t do those two things there’s not an awful lot left to work with.
I’m kind of in-between yours and @Draexnael 's response. Yes winning makes a huge difference with morale within a team. But if you aren’t building a family-type atmosphere at the club you effectively build what United have been for the last 10 years where as soon things are not going perfectly, a bunch of egos at the club start trying to tear the team apart from the inside.
This season we unfortunately have become a bit like United.
Henderson has never faced a crisis like this as a captain. 20-21 was highly unusual (no fans) plus and covid affected plus we knew once VVD returned we’d be in a good place. That’s not how it is now.
