The only Blushite fans that stayed until the end of the game only did so because they wanted to abuse the board…
Got to be the worse fans in the whole of the football…

Fixed for accuracy

Jurgen knows in going up against the multipound squads of Chelski and Cheaters for an entire gruelling season… he needs to keep our powder dry at every opportunity…
Start the game at pace, take a good lead, then go into freewheeling mode and get subs on
Rinse and repeat

I’ve just been talking about this after seeing his press conference this morning. He also mentioned our spending when interviewed after the game. It really annoyed me to be honest, everyone knows Everton’s net spend is way more than ours over the past few seasons. The difference is Everton have pissed money down the drain, on players who are not good enough.

I blame the “smash them they’re shit” interlopers :stuck_out_tongue:

I like that. I’ll use that one, when I go for a pint tonight. With your permission of course, copyright laws and all that.

Tbf, Rafa did acknowledge that and said it needed to improve.

I didn’t think we were at our best last night (I did miss most of the first half though) but the gulf between the two sides is massive. We also have a Lesser Spotted Salah who is just on fire in front of goal at the moment.

Pickfords weaknesses were laid bare last night and should have done better on 3 of the goals I think. Might not have saved them but you could see that he was no where near any of them through poor positioning etc.

I feel a bit for Rafa. He’s taken on a proper poisoned chalice. He’s picked up a mess of a squad, there’s no money and has to deal with a group of fans that wont give him an inch to work with. He honestly looked strained to me.

On the other hand, this from him in the post match presser.

We lost because made mistakes against a top side. We have seen how much money they have been spending.

Is he on crack?

Yeah I heard that.

Wasn’t that always Rafa’s go to reasoning? It was something that always grated a little with me when he was with us (without fully appreciating the garbage he was dealing with from above) but it always seemed to be about money with him. Back then he was kind of right, now I think Everton need to look closely at what they’ve been doing over the last few years.

I think it’s important to remember here that Everton have spent more net than we have over the last few years (and not spent it well enough, a point Rafa acknowledged and said needed to improve) but Rafa himself has been allowed fuck all as a result of Everton’s earlier profligacy.

You can see how he can make the point without irony or hypocrisy.

I don’t feel sorry for him. He knew what he was getting into there. I didn’t want him to go. Not because I think he should be loyal to Liverpool or anything like that. He can work where he wants. A guy’s got to eat. It was more that it was always going to end in tears. I didn’t want him to go to Chelsea because it was the same thing. The fans hated him to a man. In fact most of the players hated him, but he was still more or less at the peak of his powers back then and he was working with a top squad so he managed to pull it off.

He’s long past his best now and that fanbase has got to be the most toxic in football when things are going wrong. Great performance and result for us but I found last night depressing. I watched it with no commentary, just the stadium noise. The booing of YNWA during the Ava White tribute, the abuse of our players whenever they went to take a corner or throw-in, the constant booing during the game, throwing crap on to the pitch, the booing, fans leaving after 20 minutes, the booing, fans running on the pitch, the booing and, not forgetting, the booing. What a miserable fucking experience it must be to be an Everton fan and what a miserable experience it must be for him to have to put up with all that after the career he’s had.

This I honestly cant understand. You go to a football match to enjoy it don’t you? Lord knows what they were all doing. And leaving after 20 minutes. Wow, that’s just shallow.

Considering the ref could have been absolutely shite last night… I thought he did ok in the main.

You’re obviously incapable of putting yourselves in the shoes of Everton fans.

Fair play.

Once the game started you could feel the hostility of the fans inside the stadium luckily they were silenced from the start, imagine leaving a game after 20 minutes must be the worst fans in the world.

Took a lot for him to book the Everton players for diving credit to him though many refs would not. I think he got fed up with them crowding him very early on.

Notice that Pickford save were he launched himself when a few steps to the side and he could have caught it. His positioning is shocking.

He is a very poor goalie and how he is still England number one is beyond me as they all have flaws but he is beyond the worse.

No, nor would I want to going by what I’ve seen of late. I don’t think I’d come out the other side.
