Post match: Everton v Liverpool (EPL 1/12/21 8.15pm

This! Absolutely loved it when Sadio left a knee on T-Rex’s thigh.

And didn’t the T Rex roar and carry on about it. Fucker never properly apologised for the VVD assault. Allan also was a hypocritical fouling twat. Thankful we got out of that unscathed.

What an intense, angry, humourless crowd. Every time our players were close to the fence the TV picked up gestures and abuse that was next level. Same emotions from their players. What a dire place right now.

Anyway onto something more positive….top performance and result. Loving this scoring spree, so good to watch. Hopefully the rewards come in the form of some big trophies come season end.

Loved that VvD took the free kick…probably taking a piss at T-Rex. It was a bit of a wishful thinking for me that he would score from the free kick. Too bad that the wall blocked it and didn’t get to test T-Rex’s short arms.

Haha T-Rex! Seriously if he had normal length arms he would have saved Salah’s first as well as Hendo’s goal.

Sorry but Joel had a pretty poor 1st half lost most of his contested headers and didn’t pass the ball well. He did improve dramatically in the 2nd half

So Rafa lamenting on the money Liverpool had spent in the last few years as a big reason for the gulf. Hang on Rafa, your bunch has spent more. Piss poor recruiting and player standards are the issue.

The best part of the game… the Everton supporters kicking a ball on to pitch to stop another attack from us, and thiago ( I think) booting it away & the game rolled on.

At times, it felt like we were playing a lower division team, we had no problem brushing them aside. One of the easier and more entertaining derbies in a long time and not just because of the startling gulf in class and quality.

Their antics on the stands and in general were also fascinating as they ridiculed themselves for 90 minutes, playing air raid sirens at the start, booing at everyone and everything and playing peekaboo with the ball.

So much jealousy, bitterness and nastiness. They’ve really gone bonkers. They need help, professional help that is. All that bile and anger can’t be good for anyone.

We went in and did a job. I’m happy with the result but we should have dealt better with the last 15 minutes of the first half where they started playing like a recognisable Benitez team. In truth I think Everton are beyond even Rafa’s magic skills. This looks like a relegation team and the fact that the players are facing a cacophony of booing every game isn’t going to help them.

MotM to Salah, Hendo and Robbo. Also to the German commentary team who I think had been out on the piss before kickoff.

I read it as Rafa speaking indirectly to the Everton owners - either pump some money in, or this is what you can expect

I posted this in the in-game thread so will repost as I feel it’s very important.

Only one thing is going to stop us winning the league this year and that’s ourself, it’s pretty much irrelevant what Chelsea and City do because this team is the best in the league in every department.

When I say ourself I mean the complacency that sometimes creeps into our game which seems to grow and grow into conceeding cheap goals and then periods of us looking lost. Prior to Everton we’d had a run where this didn’t happen and again last night we started all guns blazing and just blew them away, it really should have been 4 or 5 by the time they had a chance… Again it seems like it was some sort of tackle not punished as we wanted (Allan on Jota) and collectively the intensity dropped 1-2%, we stopped winning the 50/50s, we started to switch off and not mark properly, passes became soft and weak rather than fizzed and strong… From that small period Everton scored a very soft goal. This has happened a lot, Brentford, Brighton, West Ham… All games we should have won, all games drawn or lost because we lost our heads and stopped playing our game.

Now you may ask why bring this up when we’ve just smashed our local rivals 4-1 in their old back yard? The reality is this is a very poor Everton team, they really are bad… And this is one of the best Liverpool teams of all times, it deserves the trophies and every accolades (fuck you french football) going… So our standards have to be the very top, we need to keep up the intensity every second… As I said only 1 team is going to stop us winning the league, it has a liver on it’s chest.

I think that this game was an important milestone for him, on his road back to full recovery. It mustn’t have been easy to come back at the place where he got the injury, to face the same players etc. He got out of it not only in one piece, but by having played very well. That will boost his confidence in his body imo. He’s now very near to recovering the 100% of his abilities.

I read it the same way especially because it’s Rafa. Think context and who’s saying it matters. Any other manager saying the same thing would sound they are having a dig at Liverpool, but don’t think Rafa meant it that way.

Good on the bluenoses for leaving at staggered intervals to prevent the spread of covid.

I didn’t think rafa was disrespecting LFC at all mentioning the money we had spent…
It was just another way of stating that the players that Jurgen has at his disposal are predominately the ones Jurgen has brought to the club…
Where as Rafa is still trying to patch together the shite players he has to work with… The Blueshite fans need to remind themselves of that before turning on him so quickly

Rafa is a legend for us and he will always get the benefit of any doubt from me!

A walk in the park.

Even at 2-1 I never thought for a minute that we weren’t going to end up winners.

And that midfield of Hendo , Fab and Thiago … ahhh. It’s what I’ve dreamt of since the day Thiago signed.

Playing Thiago and Jordan just for 60-70mins each game is keeping them fresh.
