I expected it to be a tough game. No one wants to lose their last game at home, even Everton. However the best statistic for me is, we have won as many games at Goodison as they have. 41 a piece.
.
In the grand scheme of things it’s a point away.
Moral high ground and sporting, something that twat can’t fathom.
And people like to argue with me over the last 6-7 years when I say the refs are bought and paid for by the Saudis. I will die on that hill, this is one of the most corrupt leagues in any sport.
Have to say I’m absolutely delighted never to go to that shit heap ever again.
The 2 goals against the team were very contentious but our players and coaches literally didn’t help themselves at all.
After Salah scored the second goal, it was prime for us to get Endo on for Macca at some point, where it is essential to win the ball and keep it. Instead, the team kept trying to force the 3rd goal by pumping impossible long balls for the forwards to chase. That led to the loss of control in the match.
After that, Jones got so wound up and confronted that everton scum with a shove that led to everyone including the head coach and assistant coach getting involved. All 3 were given the chance by Oliver to send all of them off. What a massive loss of heads…
As night follows day…bad result sees certain poster.
Anyhow I’m taking a break what I wrote earlier on reflection as a bit silly I hope to see you all on the other side.
Apologies @redalways and @RER
Don’t leave Matty,
We need you on the threads. It won’t be the same without you.
For me the issue is not bias. That is often a mistake in assessing refereeing performance.
The fatal flaw in Oliver is that he interjects himself in almost every game he refs and ends up making judgement, and not factual calls.
That’s how a clear foul on Salah is waved away.
That’s how you end up giving 2/3 of the fouls to Everton with only 375 of possession.
Time and time again he gets caught up in the occasion of the game. You saw it in that Chelsea/Spurs game; The Juve game with Buffon; or even the recent Arsenal game.
If you need to take a breath, do it my good man. Nothing but respect to you.
But make it brief!
And ideally you carry on here and don’t need to take a break. You are an important part of the forum and the place is better for you being here.
Best wishes.
Can’t help but take that as a personal dig, but whatever.
Result is irrelevant, whether or not we deserved the win is a by-product of another official costing us points in a title chase. It isn’t the first time, and it seemingly won’t be the last.
Nah it’s the one who proclaims he isn’t a super fan and it shows.
We’ve had Oliver in 3 games this season, we’ve dropped 7 points. In the other 21 games, we’ve dropped 8.
In the Forest home game he gave 15 fouls against us and only 6 against Forest despite us having 70% possession.
Corrupt.
In all the madness following the game it has been overlooked that we allowed Beto to score a goal against us.
Oliver will take the limelight but if we’re honest, the Liverpool performance was no better than the referee’s tonight. We did absolutely nothing to trouble Prickford besides a shot from 20 yards out which he tipped over the bar from Mo….and this was in the 88th min after Jota had been brought on. We continue to sleepwalk through games and only play in moments thinking that’ll be enough to win, it’s simply not good enough.
We scored twice.
And that should be enough to win any game but here we are.
If there is a sub-par performance after sacrificing the FA cup, it has to be called out. If the fans keeps deflecting the poor results due to referee’s performance, we are no different from the gooners.
Letting a 2-1 lead slip in the dying seconds of the match for a lineup that had a whole week’s rest bar for Diaz, Nunez, Jota and Tsimikas, getting a player, a head coach and an assistant coach sent off is not worthy of minimally a rebuke from the fans given that all these players are professionals?
