Post Match: Everton v Liverpool (EPL 12/2/25 7.30pm)

The push on Konate was egregious. A high looping ball with no pace (think of a fielder on the boundary in cricket with the ball hit in the air towards him), the CB jumping in the air to head it away, then pushed by the player not attempting to get the ball. A foul any day of the week, as he moved Konate out of his zone.

The ball had no pace, just the high apex of it meant that when Konate was bundled out the way, the ball bounced over Curtis to the Everton lad who headed it towards Tarkowski.

Football is a contact sport, so a header duel will involve jostling, which is fair. The Everton player made no attempt to head the ball, just timed his push.

Well, thanks for clarifying.
The discussion was ongoing and had many points, and you and Mascot really took on some details of Rab’s post and by arguing those it seemed to object to Rab’s whole message.
I did keep up and read everything, and I think that most people involved made some valid points, I just don’t understand the animosity between fellow fans that have a slightly different view on what happened.
It’s true that in the last few posts you’ve been focusing on the added time part of the argument, but the disagreement was more general (at least in the start), and without specifying that “the man has no point” part was solely to the extra time, I can’t be in your mind to know you are not referring to anything else that you initially disagreed with.
So your reply could have really done well without the first part, no need for that at all, comes off as a bit hostile.

Dropped points are part and parcel of the game. Titles arent easy to win - you have to adjust to fatigue, injuries, loss of form, suspensions etc…then add in corruption from Oliver - but that aside any who thinks we will win every game is expecting a lot!

Yes i want us to P38 win 38 but its not gonna happen.

7 points with a plus 8 goal difference means effectively 8 points ahead……

The GD will wildly swing if we lost that many points compared to Arsenal anyway.

It’s the next day, and we’ve all moved on, but, y’know, thanks for stepping in. :joy:

No problem with @rab. He’s a sound lad, and I think the disagreement was pretty respectful.

A typical derby where everything is rushed and frantic. No real shape to either team. I agree with everyone that Oliver was dreadful handing out cards like confetti. I hate to think what it would have been like if they’d won. Our attacking threat down the left side was non existent as Robbo only passed backwards all game and never brought Gakpo into
It. A little improvement once he had been subbed. A definite push on Konate for their equaliser but one of them when you get them or you don’t. Crazy end after the final whistle and both teams can expect a big fine. Just hope we can thrash them when they come to Anfield in a few weeks time.

Cast your mind back to the 21/22 season. Liverpool and City go into the last game of the season separated by a single point.

In the City match, the cheats are 3-2 up have wrestled the game back from 2-0 down, but now find themselves under pressure as the game reaches added time.

5 mins are added on, of which Ederson spends 3 mins rolling around on the floor. The referee blows time at 4 mins 30.

Would you like to have a guess who the referee was?

I think Walshy got hacked.

Ok, so what’s the next game and who’s doing the thread?

I mean, i expect us to win every game as we have the players…but its impossible.

Ha-ha-ha, yes it does look like you’ve moved on.
It also does sound like you are making a big effort to be the “grown man in the room”, speaking on behalf of everyone. Kudos for that!

Anyway…message taken, won’t bother you anymore, not sure why I did in the first place.

@Iftikhar

Step up.

Me and @SBYM

back up

You forgot to mention me.

I’m offended. You get a red card.

We had the game in our grasp and should have seen it out but gave them possession back under little pressure and paid the price. Typical game from them and the bent Oliver to stop our style of play, neither of their goals should have stood for obvious reasons but both did. Can’t criticise Jones I would have done the same in his shoes and probably worse. Now Slot will be punished with two games ban and Curtis one.

Like he did against City at Anfield last season?

He isn’t weak. He is full of himself. He’s a biased cunt who’ll do as he likes no matter what.
It’s no surprise that City are the main beneficiary of his mistakes.

Sorry @mascot , I’ve seen Oliver being piss poor against Liverpool at Anfield too.

He’s just a corrupt piece of shit.

It’s a shame a former Liverpool player or pundit don’t call out PGMOL and the referee after games like last night.
