Always nice to get a late winner against the Bitters.

Same frailties on display though. Early direct balls we failed to deal with. Everton and a goal ruled out for offside, and shortly later, Gakpo with a nice assist for Mo to open the scoring.
After that, we restricted Everton. But then another lapse in concentration and Everton got back in with a goal that we should have defended better.

Freddie Woodman coming on and doing well, especially when VVD came close making a mess in communication. Shows the importance of having an experienced third choice keeper, that is happy to be on the sidelines and rarely have a game. Usually a keeper in the their mid to late thirties would do this job, but we have an experienced keeper at a relatively young age of 29. I think having a keeper from the second tier in this position is a good move.

Rio had a great chance near the end. Kerkez left the ball, allowing itl to roll perfectly for Rio, who should’ve done much better. At least guide the ball on target. But that’s the rawness for you that you expect from a young player.

And then the winner by Virg. All the better against Prickford as well as making up for the reverse fixture when they got a late goal.

No better way to win it.

Well done to Jones for continuing to try and play football, won us the game in the end.

That’ll do.

Unlucky Everton.

Maybe in a few years you can get a new stadium and try to beat us in that

Not a great performance, but Everton really only created major danger with crosses.

I was worried going into the end of the game we would start dropping deep, but we kept getting the ball out and creatednhalf chances, eventually resulting in the corner that led to the goal.

Its rare that we are able to play the football expected against Everton, especially when we’ve had the poor season we’ve had, so its a very satisfying result

Thought Curtis had a pretty solid game, albeit gave us a couple of hesrt attacks. Gakpo played well too.

He did some good stuff, some bad stuff. Like everyone else.

Apart from Gravenberch, who was just shite.
