But the second halibut was much tastier.
Having slept on it, my opinion hasnât changed.
A valuable away point against a side that, from the entire chasing pack, looks the most consistent. Theyâre coming off a significant winning streak. I donât doubt Arsenal and Chelsea have more quality, but Forest are rock solid in terms of their commitment to their plan. And they work their tits off.
I think the first half last night was as much them putting us off our game as it was us being a couple of percent down on the required intensity. Kudos to them.
7/9 points clear from 2nd and 3rd, assuming we beat Everton, and there is a snowflakeâs chance in hell anyone goes on Cheaty-style streak.
I is content.
StillâŚCOYS!
If only for the self entitled wanking arses to go full meltdown.
good enough for jehovah?
That was one of the things that puzzled me. It just felt as though it would have been a brilliant opportunity for him to build on his recent couple of games. I did think that it would have been a game where his abilities could shine through, but admittedly I know little about him as a player.
Slot alluded to Elliottâs lack of intensity due to his missing time, which to me sounds like a weak excuse. How is he supposed to build intensity when he canât get on the pitch? How come Bradley and Tsimikas are afforded the chance to build their intensity back up, but Elliott canât even get 10 minutes?
Elliott isnât some ordinary guy. The guy recorded double digit assists last season. Slot though canât find any minutes for him. Forest got visibly tired at the end but he still opted to finish the match with 3 subs, leaving both Elliott and Chiesa on the bench. That just doesnât seem right.
Who would you have taken off for Harvey last night?
How come Bradley and Tsimikas are afforded the chance to build their intensity back up, but Elliott canât even get 10 minutes?
Bradley and Tsimikas are direct replacements for their first choice wingbacks.
Elliot has other midfielders to contend with.
I couldnât say personally, as after an excellent first half, my stream decided to shit itself in the second.

Did he? In the post-match press conference he was talking about Jotaâs lack of intensity, but I canât hear anything about Elliott except an indirect reference to âother playersâ.
I do wonder if Arne sees central midfield as the most important part of his game plan, which would explain why itâs almost always the same 4 faces.
Gravenberch and Iâd have Jones drop back in his place. Salah too for Chiesa. I know that heâs come up with the goods umpteenth times, but lately he seems to have slowed down. He missed a bucket load of chances with poor finishing and Williams got the better of him.
I thought Gravenberch had to stay on after Konate went off. He kept the shape when Forest had the ball. Taking him off and asking Jones to do that job would have been a disaster
As for taking off Salah?
Have you seen his stats for the season so far?
You need a goal and you take your main threat off??
I thought Gravenberch had to stay on after Konate went off.
I thought that was a peculiar swap at the time but it really seemed to work. Iâm still not sure that Konate is at full fitness at the moment, but was it still a tactical swap?
I think the idea was to get another attacking option on.
Taking Gravenberch off would have changed the shape too much later in the game. Curtis doesnât have that ability to play hybrid CM/CB in his locker.
My take on this match:
Forrest played for 50 mins
Liverpool played for 90mins
Weâve seen it in a lot of games this season. We get almost battered in the first half then we come back second half.
A lot of teams are setup to play on overdrive and get an early couple of goals and sit back. The problem is that most cannot get enough lead to be secure so they keep on pushing until the run on fumes before the hour mark. This is where our relative freshness make the difference in the final score.
Yeseterdayâs game should have ended at least 1-3. Goalkeeping miracles
I think the idea was to get another attacking option on.
Iâm assuming that Slot thought that Forest would just sit back for the rest of the game? Robbo definitely looked spent when he came off. I wasnât so sure about Konate. Generally, I thought we looked fresher than the last coupe of games (Accrington aside) and there was a big difference in energy levels towards the end.
If only we could get to half time with a clean sheet.
Forest offered no threat as the match went on.
Nevertheless, Jones would have been a risk, as was playing Gravenberch there.
As far as Salah goes, I know that his stats are compelling but that doesnât mean that he can never come off. He wasnât particularly good and Chiesa might have offered something different.
Forest offered no threat because Gravenberch played across the front of the back three. And your point on Salah makes no real sense.
But for a goal line block and an outstanding save he would have had two goals last night. He was below par but still a huge threat.
AnywayâŚwe differ so fair enough.
Forest had a plan and executed that plan really well. They have done it all season long. And honestly I am quite impressed with what they do when they have possession. They keep it simple. The goal they scored was so simple that you can see itâs a classic training ground play. I am not sure whether they are title contenders but you can see why itâs so difficult to score against them. They are not your Stoke kind of defensive wall, they are just executing their strengths very well and they do have some very quick players
Gravenberch was playing a quasi CB/midfield role which gives him the option of driving in to midfield as Ibou was doing but being far more adept at it and was again excellent in that role
