Agreed feels like we lost alot of players and have replaced them we players who might not fit the style. This also could just take time to calibrate, maybe longer than we all want.
Anyhow I’m not doing another away pre match thread.
A bit of a shit night. Played poorly, lost, and our two best players went off injured. Oh, and the only referee fuck up that went to VAR went against us (rightly).
Studge isn’t worried.
Fingers crossed.
I really don’t know what to do with the socks. They are obviously quality, but I don’t know how to get the best out of them.
Thought Wirtz was ok then moved wide and faded.
Isak was invisible but we cant create anything.
Are there many teams who win league, spend a fortune and look worse?
This is the issue with playing poorly and winning…were now not winning but still playing poorly.
I do want 24-25 Macca back, though.
Wash them with white undies.
He needs to get fit first and what you notice is you find him snd Wirtz been in the same space a lot
We will get the points at the weekend if there’s a penalty shootout.
It’s not the end of the world but you are right. It ain’t looking good. Team is better on paper but omg what is wrong on the pitch?
Injuries are the overarching concern. Hopefully Ali and Hugo are not going to miss a significant period of time.
I will not panic like some folks have about the performance of some players. It’s clear it would take a couple months to integrate everyone into this largely rebuilt side. We were fortunate, in that regard, to be undefeated. I think that masked the obvious issues with cohesion that should have been anticipated going into this campaign.
There will be a shout to revert to last year. 4-3-3 with Isak up the middle, a Grav-Macca-Szobo midfield, and a Bradley-Ibou-Virg-Robbo back four. For some stability.
That might be a short term solution. Long term, though, Slot needs to prove that his ideas of how to remake this side for the future are workable.
Because, this summer was not about just one season. Too many people are judging everything based off of less than two months. This summer was about setting up the next five years. And we won’t know for quite some time whether we made the right decisions.
And end up with pink undies?
I’m not in the mood for your Canadian perversions.
Think the amount of changes and loosing Diogo means it’s really a different team. Hopefully it’s a time thing and nothing more troubling.
Yes, tbf thought Curtis gave it a good go
Barring szobo, virgil and alisson, most players seem to have dropped down a level. Gravenberch the latest victim.
There seem to be no team cohesion and the buildup play is slow as af.
Well it ended about 15 mins ago
