Not a PGMOL referee, and Inter not Saudi owned, so no brown envelopes. That’s my guess.
Because it had no material impact on the attacker’s ability to do anything. That is a significant part of the interpretation for the refs and why one like this falls into a gap where every possible decision from the ref is a bit shit - it’s a bit silly to reward a forward for something when he was not remotely impeded and clearly threw himself to the ground to draw attention to it, but its probably even more silly to cry arse about a defender being penalized for something so needless, clear and obvious.
I actually dont think fans really would be happy with a zero tolerance implementation as we’ve seen this in short bursts before so all you can really do is demand your defender to not be so fucking stupid.
Wirtz was arguably attempting to get the ball and Bastoni’s (fairly lengthy) shirt pull impended him. Thergroe, I think the penalty call is more than justified, though it might seem a bit soft these days (or in the case of the physical PL, no case at all).
One rarely wins a foul by playing fair and square. We should not refrain from “alerting” the referee to what our players have been due.
Quite a lot of the defenders in the PL show a lot of affection towards Salah and the refs quite sympathise with them. Aaaah bless!
Yeah drag him to the floor for a bit of hanky panky.
Great tactical analysis and great points re Mo
I’m really not sure why you’d think that from a post about Firmino and Brendan Rodgers.
Was meant to be light hearted in the context of the entrenched views we have here - I can delete if it overly offends
I am offended that he is offended and that you have offended someone when intended not to offend
