Post match: Inter v Liverpool (UCL 9/12/25 8pm)

Diamonds are fortheforseeable

Decent performance that with a handful of standouts.

Looked like a properly coached side tonight, no huge gaps in the midfield and much more compact. That feels more like a performance we can build on.

Maybe - I don’t think outside maybe half of Lombardy there is a lot of sympathy for an Inter defender getting dinged for an obvious hold on an attacker’s shirt. It was unnecessary, but if Wirtz doesn’t call attention to it, Bastoni gets away with it (for at least the 3rd time in that match, though nowhere as flagrant in the other two)

A lot better performance. Might have been a soft penalty for the goal but it events out on the first. Give Szobo the captaincy and penalty duties.

I’m starting to feel that buying players from Newcastle is bound to fail

Hamman was decent.

Robbo being interviewed and of course the presenters have to ask the Mo issue question. :frowning:

Robbo hoping to play with Mo again.

Bits of Studge’s coat are stuck in his beard.

I’m super embarrassed for him.

No but the suggestion was Newcastle buys and he is one.

Stephen Warnock
Former Liverpool and Aston Villa defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

A really impressive performance from Liverpool with the organisation and commitment of the players.

Did they deserve to get that penalty? Probably not but the fans won’t care. It is a huge result away from home and it makes their life easier for themselves in terms of qualifying for the next round.

Played some footy and won.
That was better. I wonder why?
Jones and Szoboszlai our best out there. Robertson also influential.
One step forward after some giant leaps backward. Let’s keep it going in that direction please.
Soo happy .

Yep Gomez helped to keep it quiet defensively, then Conor comes and takes advantage of the space :clap::clap:

We were very solid defensively. They barely had half a chance.

I’ll take it.

Classic Liverpool away performance in some European shit-hole.

Keep the crowd quiet, grow into the game and then hit them late on with a sucker-punch.

I think the gulf between the PL and Serie A was evident tonight. most of us were expecting a bumming but they never layed a glove on us.
Gravenberch, Jones and Szoboslai my picks for MOTM.
Bit of a soft pen but if you pull someone’s shirt in the box that’s the risk you take.
Only real downside again was Isak and MacAllister. Both failed to have any influence on the game.

Arne Slot na na na na na, Arne Slot na na na na na…
