Post match: Inter v Liverpool (UCL 9/12/25 8pm)

Can’t help but wonder how much more positive things might have felt if we’d not chucked away a two goal lead and then a last minute goal at Leeds.

Would have been 7 points from 9 in the league followed up with a win here and possibly none of the Mo nonsense.

As it is you have to praise the mentality tonight to go and get the job done and with quite a few players missing. Hardly a vintage performance but we’ve got to take the positives where we can if we’re to claw our way out of this mess.

FT: Inter Milan 0-1 Liverpool

Inter Milan

Inter midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan, speaking to Amazon Prime: "I think it was a balanced game, no one deserved to win tonight. The best result was a draw. I don’t know how they came up with a penalty that never existed but this is football. We are not happy. If you give a penalty like this, then every contact in the box is a penalty.

On Salah: "Is there a problem? We are here to play our game and try our best. We are trying to prepare the game with or without him.

“We missed a goal and need to create more chances to score a goal. Liverpool pressed us really well. We created a few chances but Alisson saved. This is football and we accept it.”

See you guys don’t realise our coaching staff and Wirtz read our stuff.

I’m waiting for the call, megabucks coming my way, I think I’ll play hard to get!

Thought Robbo, Virg and Arne all spoke really well. All honest and open but didn’t get goaded into creating headlines

It was nobody’s fault we have had a lot of rotten luck in November.

Have seen many explanations for shirt-pulling…but still don’t understand it

They say you make you’re own luck, but for me we are in a massively unlucky spell and have been for most of this season.

Has Mo posted anything celebrating the club’s win today? Or is he still resting on one of those stupid shirtless selfies he always takes.

That was a bit tongue in cheek really. Lots of people wondering why he’s been starting despite not playing well. Got their wish tonight.

We need to win 2 more matches to go into the next round right?

1 should hopefully be enough, I think 15 points is expected to be enough to normally qualify?

I have no idea @Maria - would need to study the remaining games. Winning our next two wouldn’t hurt us though :0)

Can you have a word about set piece defending and attacking and some tactical foul tips would be mighty handy

We have Marseille away and Qarabag at home. Have to believe we can get three points, but then again, I didn’t expect us to get walloped by PSV at Anfield.

Simple get Ali to come out take control and batter anyone that gets in his way, like he used to.

Edit, but he may break doing it

As an aside, after almost two full iterations of the league phase, I’m all in on this CL format.

Way more interesting than the old groups.
