Post match: Leeds v Liverpool (EPL 6/12/25 5.30pm)

I wonder what he told him to swallow…if some dude told me to “swallow it, and go home”… i would be offended too… like dude, no foreplay.

Seems to have left him a bit salty, what ever it was

Well I’m sure Slot will have a different version of events.

Either way, if he needs some help figuring it out I’m sure the coaching staff could send some videos of his performances this season. He might find some answers in there.

Also, it’s three games he’s not started. And Slot needs to find a team that works whilst he’s off playing the AFCON. Be a team player and seek your answers the right way. Or at least don’t drop this bomb before you’re about to disappear for a month leaving your teammates and manager to face the media questions.

It’s entirely selfish behaviour, even if Slot hasn’t given him an explanation.

It is sinking in we were about 2mins from 5th place.

I imagine this strop would have looked very different from that vantage point…

somehow I think we were also two minutes away from not seeing this almighty strop at all. It’s crazy what a win can paper over.

By winning us two more points. Bringing us back up to the likes of Chelsea. Narrative changes to “7 points from last 9”. Mood lifts a bit, maybe confidence too.

Granted it wouldn’t be a foothold back into the season we hoped but this season and the mood isn’t going to swing back the other way with the click of the fingers or one magic result. It’ll be a small run that stops the rot that slowly builds into more consistent performances and results. A win today helps that even if the performance wasn’t that of a team challenging for the title.

This is so, so, so bad.

There is no positive to this, it is pure grim-dark.

I don’t think Mo Salah is the type of player who will gracefully accept that his powers are on the wane and commit to being a bit part player of the rest of his contract. We may have seen the last of them in a red shirt. Is likely to be sold this summer.

Is it possible to move the Salah talk to the Salah thread? At least from this point on.

I know it blew up after the Leeds game today, but this story is going to live on a bit, probably until Mo leaves in January is my guess, but either way, it will live on long after today’s game.

I really question Slot coming out with the whole long ball comment once again. First of all this is no secret, everyone and their mother knows that we’ve been susceptible to this. It’s been happening game after game. The only surprise was to see Villa not employed this as well, or West Ham. My question is why haven’t you been able to come up with even a semblance of a strategy to counteract this?

He’s a drowning man clutching at anything to save his arse. His comment about Konate tonight is a case in point.

Ah, didn’t see this. You are busy !

I was gonna have an early night in but this is completely rejuvenated me. Not in the best way possible but where you have it. What a mess!

It is VERY similar to what he said about Quansah last year, about being present when something bad happens.

But he said that then about a player who was credited with an OG after Virgil blasted the ball at him but otherwise played well. He’s saying it now about a guy who has enormous lapses in judgement in pretty much every game and whose errors gift the oppositions goals and is still be more gentle with him than he was with Quansah

maybe Arne has been using too much oil to slick his bald pate and because of the light glistening off his head, Mo didn’t get a good look at the tactics board these past few weeks and therefore has been playing offkilter with the entire team. Maybe that’s why he’s so mad.
