Post match: Leicester v Liverpool (EPL 20/4/25 4.30pm)

This season he’s been very good from my recollection. He has misplaced passes quite often in previous seasons when receiving the ball deep however his decisions and execution when forward tends to be excellent as seen by his assists numbers.
Let’s face it neither are midfielders so encouraging both to take quick simple options when deep would help us immensely in general.

I’ll take all recent league performances with a pinch of salt. The team performed when it was needed. I don’t care the complacency creeping in because that’s common and is fine as long as we win the title.

The performances in cup games can be assessed which is across the board - Slot to coaches to players they all need to figure how to improve next season.

I’m not sure it’s complacency but more so that the season is catching up to us. It happens, and I’m sure we’ll take measures to make sure it doesn’t next season.

I think it’s the opposite of complacency. They are playing with a nervousness and inhibition that is borne of being so close to the league, miles ahead, but also aware what kind of laughing stock they would be if they managed to fuck this up. That’s why it get worse when they are a goal up. I think the pressure is suffocating them.

As soon as this league is done you’ll see them play with freedom again.

Yeah. Agreed the reasons could differ but it definitely doesn’t reflect the true potential of the team.

I have no problem disagreeing, I actually thought that apart him not scoring he was far better against Leicester, than he has been the previous 4 games.

However, he was the main culprit against them for not taking chances but without going back, apart from Flobs and myself, no one really mentioned him negatively.

1103 times, you do talk crap and yes Mo has had many games this season where he has been poor but come away with great stats where it matters, goals and assists.

So…
Two people out of the whole forum mentioned him negatively?

Obviously apart from the usual few in the in match thread…

If you find yourself in such company, you should ask yourself some searching questions.

Sorry Red, but that last comment is laughable as that is exactly why he is paid the big bucks.

I do agree that he like any football player he can’t be expected to take all his chances, but he had an XG of 1.97 against Leicester and even he would expect to score with such a high XG.

Yeah, not often me and Flobs agree

@Flobs doesn’t even agree with himself very often.

It’s highly unlikely Diaz is on £55k a week. I know spotrac and other similar sites list that but they just conjure a number out of thin air. At best his base salary might be £55k and bonuses on top of that.

You are probably right in this. But are the salaries reported by spotrak for the other players relatively more equivalent ? Or any other sites for that matter.

If , say Chiesa is on 120k a week and that’s been the salary that’s reported correctly on spotrac. Why isn’t Diaz 's salary being given the correct reporting ?

It shows Jones on 15k a week thats less than an average championship players.

Again. Depends on when Jones signed his contract.

Spotrac copy media reports, media then quotes spotrac as evidence. Neither of them have any particular insight.
