Post match: Leicester v Liverpool (EPL 28/12/21 8pm)

It was a terrible game. Don’t think any player other than Matip (and may be Tsimikas) was decent. But let’s move on. I’m happy that it happened on 19th rather than the 29th game. Six points isn’t a lot when you have 57 more points to fight for (and a six-pointer against Cheaty), and City WILL drop points too.

It is, but we won’t get anywhere near that with more performance like last night. That’s the reality as it’s not the first time - West Ham, Brentford, Brighton, Chelsea, Spurs… We shouldn’t have lost/drawn those games, all games where we got matched for intensity, allowed some luck go against us and bottled it.

I agree but that’s in the past now. We can only look forward now.

I honestly dont put anything beyond this team with Klopp as manager.

We beat City, they only need to lose one other and it’s on again. That is not beyond the realms of impossible. We’ve done impossible, this isn’t.

Phil Babb on Sky saying that manes out of form cos he’s jealous of Salah.

Babb proving there that his views are as shit as he was a player.

God the number of times I’ve heard the death of a team’s season in December and it turn out to be false.

City are clearly in the box seat, but their last two months have been homes games against the half decent sides and away games against the dross.

It all depends on how quickly we can turn our own form around really as to whether we can be the team that capitalises on City’s next dropped points. My fear is not that City are going to go through the rest of the season undefeated but that we have seemed to be incapable of playing consistently good football over the last couple of months. Some of the games we have come away with the points while playing poorly. We need to turn it all around. It’s our responsibility to do our job first and foremost. Right now, LFC is not even pressuring City.

Sure the city game in April will be key at least for us. But we have to do our job between now and then.

Well in the past 30+ years only once … :innocent:

Spot on. We had about ten corners and nothing came of any of them. Baffling.

Must have is brain in his nutsack, that he destroyed against that post all those years ago.

Good one. Too much negativity on here today.

It’s not over as far as I’m concerned. Yes we need to do better but that’s not impossible.

One Bunga Bunga party too far could trash City’s season yet

So Mane missed that easy chance in the 2nd half because he’s jealous of Salah? What a load of crap! Can’t believe these ex players get paid for it as well

Every corner all our players bunch together and are easily marked why not spread out and we have a better chance.

Gronnemark has done fuck all this season, when he arrived he made a huge impact but we are back to 10+ set pieces a game for nothing.

Does he do corners aswell? Thought he just did throw ins. I’m probably wrong though just guessing.

He does all, when he arrived we got like double the amount of goals from corners as everyone else. Now we hit the first man unless Kostas is taking it.

Yeah, I really dont know where this “we could have played any amount of injury time and not scored” is coming from. We should have 4 or 5 yesterday.

Even when we play well we are not what you might call a clean team. When we dont score people complain about the poor final ball or lack of creativity, when in reality compared to our typical performances/results, the issue is generally not making the most of our chances. I know there were more, but just off the top of my head there were 2 chances from the penalty, Mane’s one on one, Jota flashed a volley just past the post at the end of the first half and a goal line clearance from Hendo’s header/Ox’s cross. I think another thing we struggled with yesterday was sustaining the pressure. Leicester were able to not just defend but clear their lines pretty effectively, which meant their defense could catch their breath. It meant the chances we were creating were more a series of isolated chances than the result of overwhelming sustained pressure that eventually just causes a defense to collapse.

But what’s frustrating is that majority of the teams they face bend over for them everytime.

You can’t siege a goal like last night and not eventually score. If we’d had a few more minutes we’d have got the equaliser. We’ve seen so many late goals from this side now.

This is why the time wasting thing matters. Leicester must have taken 15 minutes out of that game just pretending to be injured.

I don’t understand why the broadcasters aren’t concerned about this. You watch any game involving us, City or Chelsea and the ball is only in play about fifty minutes to a hour. They are paying for this product.

I’m just glad our players (see Virg last night) are on the exact opposite side of the compass as the nuffies on Twitter.

This shit ain’t over.

Yellow card for Joel after three minutes and then no more cards after that. Does this make sense?

Was this really the most ‘deserved’ out of the 19 fouls combined?
