Post Match: Liverpool v Ajax (UCL 1/12/20 8pm)

Bad mistake by the keeper but that was not an easy finish for Jones. He took the goal so well.

You won’t ruin it for me. :grinning:
At least if the linesman thought it was offside they signalled it before Matip had chance to pull something.

And that’s exactly what we should do. If ever there was a dead rubber, then this is it. Whatever the result, it doesn’t affect the top position nor the bottom position.

Hence no bringing the game into disrepute and no integrity bollocks. There is absolutely nothing riding on it. Play all the kids along with Origi and Taki.

The Ribena Man played with the kids last year, and played by example. Showed leadership. Not just go through the motions. Div and Taki need to produce something to show that they can be called upon.

5 subs allowed in this game, and yet again with the score still in the balance, they didn’t come on. A professional performance in the dead rubber game is what is needed.

Good game, back and forward although we should have had a couple more.Kelleher and Jones both good for us as were Gravenberch and Schuurs for Ajax, ones to watch.

will also depend on which kids are registered for the CL

Kelleher kicked the ball way way better (like 19 times better) than I remember Adrian ever doing

Was really impressed with Perr Schuurs tonight. He pocketed Sadio the entire first half, impressively matching his strength and his speed stride for stride. He also made an audacious and clean tackle on Jota from behind, inside the box. It was only after Ajax brought all their strike force on and they changed their entire shape to 3 at the back with wide gaps was there any space for our guys to properly cut them open.

If the reports are remotely accurate, £27M is a solid deal for a player like that in today’s market. He just turned 21 last week so he has a world of potential still to develop. Really impressive performance tonight. I saw The Boss chatting up Onana and giving him props after the match too.

Really good game and seeing the young lads standing up to be counted made it great.Good work from the kids,Kelleher showed he was a more than adequate stand in for Allison.
Loved Jones’s goal,Hendo another Captains game, leading from the front.
MOTM has to be Kelleher for me.

I thought everyone was excellent.
Ajax are great at keeping the ball and luckily they looked a bit weak upfront. But we worked hard to blunt them.
Thought the keeper look really confident and was really pleased for him.
All the youngsters did well and thought Matip, Fabinho, Robbo and the machine Gini were excellent.
Mane and Mo have started misfiring a bit - mo still not 100% fit after COVID. Mane looks a bit fatigued.
Bobby was great when he came on.

Dead rubber next week and that’s what the squad needed. Full on ressies next week.
Atalanta v Ajax will be a good game.
