Post match: Liverpool v Atalanta (EL 11/4/24 8pm)

Weather or not it had any effect, the crowd were flat tonight so what Mascott said is what is going to be taken from this game

I can’t really think of a MotM here. We really underestimated the opposition in a major way here.

Agree that the language isn’t called for. But SoS should be open to criticism, and hopefully self-reflection, that a European QF in Klopp’s final season maybe wasn’t the best night for a protest!?

Which season was it when we played our best 11 week in week out and ran out of steam in both the league and culminating in a poor champions league final?

We do need to make changes, however, we possibly made too many but we still had a team out there that should have done the business. Maybe Atalanta setup different to how we expected and then our players, apart from Mac & Gakpo didn’t step up.

BTW Virg is an immense player but he could at times do with someone like Carra, bollocking him now and again, because sometimes he is too laid back

That performance is on the players and it’s on Klopp, not the fans, who I thought made plenty of noise even when we were down 2-0.

Were you there? Genuine question. Looked flat on tv

Would agree. Struggled to hear the kop on the tv.

Yeah but the camera adds 10 lbs, mate…

I apologise for the language, but it’s a reflection of my frustration as soon as the protest was announced I think we knew this was on the cards.

It’s Jurgen’s last season. He’s given us so much. Don’t fuck with the matches. Certainly not over such a tiny issue.

As bad as we were tonight… there is a 2nd leg to come.
When you can come back from 0-3 against Barcelona. Anything is possible.

Do we live in the hope of a Barca repeat show…we looked as if defenders had never seen each other…midfield on a go slow…looked like we didn’t know who was in our team…strikers…love Darwin to bits…but…I know we go again but this is hard too take…we seem too have lost the way to fight…pls find it back for Sunday…

It would be a shame if that was the last Klopp European home game. We can still win the tie, but it would need one hell of a comeback. We’ve seen it before.

We know we can turn it around we will have the bit between our teeth but that 3rd goal was the key.

nothing much to say, we got well beat

yep that was the tie-clincher.

I’m reasonably confident that in the return leg we’ll score one early, get the second around the 30min mark, and draw level on aggregate by 60mins.

We’ll then park the bus and play for pens.

As you know we have done it before, but I can’t see us not conceding as we always look likely to

We’ll definitely concede. So all we need to do is score an early goal, a late goal and a few in between :+1:
