exactly, the networks decide…
That was almost as shit as the garbage being posted in this thread. No positives to cling to at all. Extra minutes for Gini, Milner and Matip which they all could have done without, and all for nothing.
Make no mistake, the injuries caught up with us tonight. Trying to pick a team that was competitive while keeping an eye on the Brighton game proved a bridge too far even for Jurgen.
Let’s face it, we’re going into the last game needing a win to be sure of qualification. It was madness to think it would pan out otherwise. Unless we get the likes of Hendo, Tiago and Shaqiri back I can see a repeat next week and the usual last day scenario will raise it’s ugly head which will be fucking ridiculous given how the first 3 group games went.
Don’t really want to pick out individual performances because they were mostly gash but I feel I have to mention Divock. He’ll be remembered fondly for obvious reasons but right now the guy is literally stealing a living from this football club.
Yeah but if you planning to manage a squad you can’t do it, networks should have announced by now and 2K-4K in a stadium shouldn’t change that.
I was hoping the fact Gini and Milner both started was a sign Hendo and Tiago might be back for Brighton. Wont hold my breath though.
We have 2 games left mate?!
Disappointed but the line-up wasn’t exactly filling me with confidence. But, beat Brighton and get a result against Ajax, and we can easily forget about this night.
I know. I’m resigning myself to a defeat next week and the usual must-win last game. Like I said it was madness to expect any different.
Honestly, how can anyone vote for a motm?
It’s so obvious that you are being sarcastic that its becomes completely non sarcastic.
After today’s game, hate saying this but do we make a decision and fuck off the champions league? with the number of games we are playing and the injuries, for me, we have to prioritise on one or the other and I would love back to back league titles?
No we don’t. Ridiculous. Players are coming back from injury. It’ll ease up. Trust Klopp. Forget the FA Cup though.
If we carry on at this rate, we will keep losing players and end up worse than what we have, players are being overloaded with all these games, short turn around times and Internationals.
Don’t worry I still want to see us win every game and hate not going out to win but the more you see the injury list and the potential for it getting bigger the more I worry we may win nothing when we clearly are the best team!!!
I said in the pre-match thread that I didn’t want us to half arse this game – but that’s exactly what we did.
First off, the amount of changes were understandable – but it’s a big ask to play two teenagers and a new left back in our back four against wily European opposition. Was really surprised that Milner was asked to start yet another game. He is at his peak if we allow him one game a week, and I would have preferred that game to have been against Brighton.
Unfortunately, Atlanta got their first goal that killed the game just before the preplanned subs. Otherwise it could have been a decent boring 0-0.
As it is, we’ve let both Ajax and Atlanta back in it to sniff our arse. We’re favourites to go through, but it’s now a crucial game against the Dutch team. A slip up there, and things get interesting for the final game. Fair play to Atlanta (apart from that diver), as they avenged the result from 3 weeks ago and are back in contention to go through.
Someone had to be the least shit…
Alisson Becker.
I just don’t understand how Origi starts.
He’s been awful in every appearance this season.
Makes you wonder what the point of minamino is. Ok, he hasn’t set the world alight but is he going to with 2 minutes here and there?
I’d be seriously fucked off I were him and would wonder what’s the point of being here if jota (rightly so can’t argue with that) and origi are ahead of me.
I’ve said before I don’t think minamino will make it here but the guy hasn’t had a sniff this season and didn’t play play much last season.
It’s like Klopps bought him and either has seen close up he isn’t good enough or has no idea how to get him into the team. Feel for the lad.
Missed the game. And yet another one it looks like the right one I ended up missing after the Villa game. Couldn’t care less with the defeat, we’ll still go through easily. No injuries was what was needed; bounce back in the next league games and we should be ace!
I couldn’t watch the game yesterday night, but a quick look at the stats tells the whole story: second-best all night long. We never make things easy in the CL, do we?
Making five changes will have taken a lot of rhythm off, but Klopp says that even with hindsight, he’d do the same again. So, no problem, some players obviously needed a rest.
Off to Brighton now, with hopefully a good reaction and performance from our lads!
… Gini!
