Post Match: Liverpool v Atalanta (UCL 25/11/20 8pm)

Do you really believe that’s what Klopp told them to do?

A more plausible explanation would be that the players were too tired and jaded to carry out his actual instructions.

Just one of those days, oddest thing is I think we probably draw that if we make the subs 5 minutes earlier. Wasn’t a great performance but will help focus the minds going into December.

Hope Hendo and Thiago are both available for Saturday.

We do it every now and again since VVD got injured and we set up with a deep line. It’s either deliberate or the message isn’t getting through from the coaches.
It wouldn’t help if the players are jaded however the evidence is there that on such occasions we are tactically inept.

pretty obvious that was a rest day for some of the weary legs. Fringe players got a run out and some may have gotten their first career CL start so some much-needed experience and not a bad team to blood in against.

Most important part: no obvious injuries. Sadio wants to play every minute of every match and as he’s the current talisman it shows. He also attracts a LOT of attention and two-man defending which under normal circumstances would open space for his teammates. However, Origi looked fucked after 20mins especially after he took a knee to the kidneys at about 25mins in or so? he’s been a bit gash as of late, like he did after his return from the Funes Mori tackle. Was hoping for bigger things from someone who should just be entering his prime.

Yes and your the closest one to saying what no one else has, Atalanta, off the back of the embarrassment we caused them, had worked us out for this one.

That’s true. I was talking just in terms of his team selection though.

It was very much a domestic cup selection. A win or lose scenario. Yes.
