It’s like the “is this the best you can do” look/
There is a certain absurdity of him complaining.
The man spends 90 minutes swearing, berating referees, and hurling insults from the touchline. It’s like Gordon Ramsey being upset because someone swore in his kitchen.
If the fourth official had done his job properly and kept Simeone in the technical area, instead of letting him venture onto the pitch during play many times… it might have kept the lid on the Simeone pot as a simmer rather than boiling over… Seeing him disciplined like this might have kept the fans from getting so riled up against him as well…
Maybe this next line needs to go into the Ridiculous questions that need Answers thread.. but WTF is the job of a fourth official..?
That doesn’t sound like Spanish to me.
Yes, it is amazing to see that there are also foreign Atletico fans ![]()
Might have missed it…bit I didn’t see objects being thrown…only big bold insults…but do they count…
Don’t really see how they can still be looking into the spitting given that it’s been recorded on multiple cameras
Muddies the waters, makes us look bad while allowing them to go easier on Simeone due to ‘provocation’.
Glad we don’t have to go there in a return leg. That’s one positive from the new format. He’s a hot head and there would be lots of scope for this to move in an unhelpful direction, almost taking over the actual footy itself, if there was a second leg.
Three points, move on. UEFA will give a minor slap on the wrist and that’s about all I expect now.
Hopefully he bags one on Saturday against Palace to make it three in a row.
If he doesn’t put in a shift this weekend, his time in Liverpool is up and should be rid off.
Sure, some might point out that he is suspended for this match but this is no excuse.
He’s a wealthy young man with a french accent and the weekend off work, I’m sure he’ll have no problem scoring.
