Hope he had some good money on that!
Another win is lovely, but in a funny way, the thing I am most pleased about is the performance level was better. Still work to do, but there were signs that a few of them are starting to go through the gears. Moās best game so far. Wirtzās best game so far. Isak had a decent showing as he starts his climb to match fitness.
Donāt want to get ahead of myself but the season is full of so much promise.
Everton up next. Letās show them their level.
Apparently one of their coaches spat⦠hard really to try and play the upper card.
Thereās plenty of footage on twitter etc that shows him clearly spitting - whether it was directed at a fan, or on the floor/in that direction in anger, is not clear.
Would expect UEFA to dish out a ban for it to be honest.
The guy at the heart of the melee - giving his take on it
Was it really? All I could hear on the TV were prolonged periods of silence, interspersed with some chants (mostly theirs).
They turned the crowd volume down for the US viewer after a fan shouted very clearly, āItās not a fu**ing foulā¦ā
I thought the atmosphere seemed brilliant for the opening fast start, then with no apparent jeopardy it sort of died down, still not bad, but not as raucous and not as much chanting. Then the crowd piled on again later in the game to see us over the line.
Just got around to watching the game, was coaching all night yesterday, so based on Atleticoās first goal then I think the only conclusion is that it is perfectly legal to simply place a player right in front of the goalkeeper at all times to intentionally block their view? I see no way thatās not interferring with play, thank God we have VAR to make sure every decision is 100% perfect now.
He runs over and clearly directs it at the crowd.
Yep. It was ridiculous that it was allowed. It was about as clear an example as blocking the goalieās view from an offside position as you will see.
I always insult that shit cunt.
It was not continuous noise like some European nights. Once we went two up and Athleti settled, it did quieten. But its always that wayā¦crowd feed off the footballers, and vice versa. Game got unnecessarily sloppy. There were a couple of blokes in their 50-60s behind us who moaned all match and didnt sing .
The Jota song on 20ā¦incredible.
If it were a knockout game, the atmosphere would have been better forsure.
These games also feel considerably lower stakes compared to the previous format.
I was thinking that a bit.
I do enjoy them more to be honest and Iām glad lthe home and away thing has gone but there is probably a better way to shape this format.
Itās not going back to the two leg knock out and if Iām honest it felt bit like that was reliant on refs.
Two/three large groups would make more sense
Thatās probably giorgiās standard expression.
Gets the dead pan look down to a T.
The look from Mamaā¦.like dude WHATTT?!?!
