Considering your current success you should be rested for this game to be ready for Brentford away. Besides, these cups are all about giving those in reserve some valuable thread opening experience (until we make it to the business end).
Not saying we were lucky, but at the same time we must acknowledge the majority of us believe our GK was MOTM. In a game we won 3-0.
Pretty certain he made 3 world class saves. He anticipated danger and quick thinking/off his line cut out risk.
Perhaps I am just nervous when I watch our games. But for me without Alisson it’s a very different game. Whilst the result was not lucky. We are lucky to have him
Watching that game yesterday I was thinking back to when we had Karius or Mignolet in goal and how we’d have probably lost it. Not run out comfortable 3 goal winners. Buying a world class keeper has made a huge difference to this team.
After the trials and tribulations of Alisson playing behind a makeshift back four every game for most of last season… his command of situations has come on in leaps and bounds
Alisson really is fantastic. He stands through a match with next to nothing to do then pulls off blocks and saves that really are world class but does it with such apparent ease that one can feel it’s ‘normal’.
He occassionally reacts in a debateable fashion but even then 9 times out of 10 he is decisive. The more I watch him the more I feel he has something special that no other goalie has.
I voted him as one of my MOTM but not because he was pulling off worldies. As far as I remember he made one save 1st half that went straight at him from distance and one save 2nd half when Eduardo muscled his way past Konate.
I think where he excels is his handling - everything he comes for sticks - and his anticipation in coming off his line and being prepared to go down and risk injury at the feet of opposition forwards.
He did it yesterday a couple of times…compare that with Milan’s 'keeper for Salah’s goal last week. Reminds me very much of Clemence in that respect.
A great performance yesterday in all aspects of goalkeeping without doing anything for the cameras.
Give it to this guy. He’s so nonchalant he can’t even spell it right
Eh… caribou doesn’t deserve to be spelled correctly.
End of the day we bought Alisson to win us the big trophies and we have.
That’s why he cost what he cost

I thought Carribou Coffee was one of the best things about Minneapolis in 2004. I do enjoy a good Elk burger though.
