MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERTON

A great Derby win. I never felt the result was in doubt even though we gave up a goal. Love Ekitike’s start to his Liverpool career!

A bit of a struggle for the last 50 minutes but we held firm to earn the win.

we are still yet to play a full game… will take the 15 points though

Win’s a win. Relieved more than anything. Still haven’t dropped a point.

We need to stop getting so sloppy in second halves of games, though. How many times did we give the ball away cheaply?

Gravenberch, again, the MOTM, and the one who did about enough to stop us being overrun in midfield.

Every game has been bloody hard work this season and we seem to embrace the challenge of making it tough for ourselves but whatever works I guess.

Grav and Kerkez were boss throughout, rest faded after 30mins.

Nothing wrong with that performance or result.

I’m sure we are going to get an absolute dissection in here about why we didn’t get a third, or whipping boys being picked out for their performance.

I don’t think it was an usual script today. Everton looking for any way to get a foothold in the game while we were very clinical with our two goals.

I’m taking that and moving on. Nothing is to be gained on picking apart that game given its a derby and everything about form and ability goes out the window.

I’m giving my only vote to gravy just because of the first 20 mins where he was sublime.

poor isak…no service at all

Kerkez had a good game. Should have perhaps anticipated the jump better for the Everton goal.

Gravy smooth as usual with a great goal. Best #6 in the league.

Ekitike was brilliant too.

Nervy but comfortable given they didn’t have too many chances and we did look well in control with them never creating enough and neither Alisson to really make any decent saves.

Grav putting a more than 8/10 performance every game he plays. Kerkez with some really good defending overall. Bradley handled Graelish well. He’ll be a threat no matter who would have played at RB with that less help which makes Bradley’s performance even more impressive.

Loved how Ekitike scored that. Pointed where he wanted the ball, quick touch and bam. Torres memories that. He’s so clinical.. we have been really missing that.

Everton complaining about time wasting, fouls etc is so funny. Loved how we were playing it between ourselves towards the end pissing them off further.

15/15 points and this team is still not out of its second gear. Be scared rivals… be very very scared! Perfect weekend and now watch the rest of the chasing pack crumble.

After a Wednesday European game, we again had an early Saturday morning kickoff. We started really well and took two well taken goals. Being the derby, Slot reverted to last season’s title winning midfield, but had Dom as the deepest of the three in the first half.

This allowed Grav more freedom to make runs into the box, which was the key to the opening goal. NIce passing move and well taken Ekitike goal for the second.

The final 10 minutes of the first half, Everton came back into it. So Slot in the second half placed Dom in his usual high pressing position. But Everton, with Grealish in particular, did well and got a well crafted goal. Despite that, Everton didn’t carve out any other real chances., so we did enough for the three points.

A good start to the weekend.

Just glad it’s over and we got the points.
Most of the first team should get a week off, which is nice :slightly_smiling_face:

Grav was again the boss of the game and also gets headlines due to goal and assist. Good to see Hugo back on with goals, a perfect response to Isak getting his first minutes.

Handed them back in as they were hardly pressing and yet our passing that gave them the ball before their goal was crap.

However they didn’t deserve anything and a good solid last 15 which was a bit more like last season got us through. 5-5, no late goal after yesterday I needed that.
