Post match: Liverpool v Everton (EPL 24/4/22 4.30pm)

The stat I saw said 2 successful passes. They were both from kick offs. :joy::nerd_face:

They’re all delighted on the GOT forum. I’m not even sure what this means?

“We are in a fight for our survival against the odds at this point. And we are being crucified for making Liverpools path to glory a bit difficult. We are the Palestinians of football.”

They simply love to play the victim card like so many nowadays.

Yes, hard luck you didn’t beat us with your 17% possession and 16 passes

They really are becoming insufferable at this point. They’ve spent more money, they had links to an oligarch who bank rolled them.

And they turn out something even worse than Simeone’s worst. That was the most horrible display of football I’ve seen in an awful long time and I watched a lot of football from the Championship down, hell I watched two league 1 games last week and Woking vs Wrexham on Saturday and they were playing football more enjoyable than that garbage. Teams have gone at us and achieved results this season, they didn’t even bother bar using Gordon as an outlet and that only happened because we pressed forward more, in the first half his only notable moves were the two dives.

I thought it was 2? Both kick offs.

The narrative seems to be, “What did they expect us to do given we’re in a relegation fight?”. What they did was precisely what they were expected to do, and that’s the sad part! They’re just a shit team who have either been unable, or can’t be arsed, to compete for years. They just hang around mid-table and go through the motions every single fucking year. At least in the Championship they will be forced to try and win, unless they want to just trouser a few years’ parachute payments while they sink into obscurity. Fuck them. They deserve to get flushed.

That is plain wrong on numerous levels. What type of fucking idiot would write such a fucking stupid sentence.
For this nonsense alone they should be relegated.

I hate to be pedantic, no, really I do, but didn’t they have three kick offs?

I’ve seen them using the fact that, for their one and only corner of the game, the ref came over and made Gordon actually put it in the quadrant as evidence that the refs are biased against them and serve the interests of the big 6 only.

They’re genuinely at the point where a ref applying the laws of the game is proof that the game is crooked in favour of the top teams. Imagine being that mentally broken.

He was pulled before their third kick off, probably due to a poor performance… On the first two.

I did not count it Sky did, perhaps he fucked the second kick-off up :joy:

What’s that chant they always taunt us with? “Always the victims”.
Who’s playing the victim card now?

Well it’s funny you say that because they think Mane should have been sent off for violent conduct twice for putting his hands in players faces, whereas because Richarlison already had his foot on Henderson’s knee before he lashed out then that wasn’t violent or forceful enough to warrant a red.

Honestly, they’re just making their own rules to be outraged about now.

Mane is accused of gouging!
Brilliant!
I remember Souness grabbing John McGoverns face and pushing him away vs Forest. Mane was like a beauty therapist by comparison!

Everton are allowed to approach the game how they like. It was horrible, and would win no fans, or show anything of what the beautiful game can be. Time wasting, diving, leaving your foot in, pushing, pulling, no ambition, no quality, no passing… they were crap and then some. But if that’s how they set their stall out, having spent more than half a billion, go for it.

Everton are allowed to approach the game how they like, and we are allowed to beat them no matter what they do… and we did.

The appeal about a penalty after the fact just shows their bitterness all the more. We could appeal about the penalty claim when Keane fouled Origi. We could appeal about the leniency shown to Richarlison, or his feigning injury. We could appeal about Gordon’s diving.

But we won’t appeal as we are winners. Everton used all foul means possible, and they still lost.

I hope they are relegated. And I hope their financial worries are compounded as Usmanov is the money behind them, and they have mounting debts. Can’t stand them.

Which is a shame as I remember a friendlier time in the mid 1980s but that ship has long sailed.

I saw a graphic saying that there have been 12 yellow cards for simulation in the PL this season.

Everton have been booked for simulation 6 times, 3 against LFC.
