Post match: Liverpool v Everton (EPL 24/4/22 4.30pm)

That’s true. Pretty distasteful stuff.

Matip pushed Gordon plain and simple when it happens to Salah we are all shouting for a penalty

Keane pushed Origi as well.

The side on view shows clearly it’s not a push. In fact, watch the head on view closely and it’s pretty clear there’s no push.

Not sure what the foul is there. Doesn’t push/pull him, don’t think he clips his legs. Gordon claiming Matip stood on his foot but that’s not clear. Gordon clear puts his right leg across looking for contact, falls over and drags his left foot for added effect.

Kane or Vardy might get that pen but there’s no chance Salah is.

As Gordon said post match, Matip stood on his foot though and that is clearly shown in that clip…would have been a soft one but have seen softer ones given.

Pushed/stood on his foot whatever, we got away with it and that is fine :+1:

Penalty spot, gladwys street end. Let’s face it, they won’t be moving in the foreseeable future lol.

“stood on his foot” even though Gordon’s foot comes up off the ground again before Matip’s? Good party trick that.

Fuck em. They wanted our league winning season null and voided. I only wish Matip had got away with catching the ball in the area rather than this debatable one. No more than they’d deserve.

This video is a great watch.

Salah has been denied penalties for much worse. We wouldn’t even bother claiming for that one

This is pretty much what I came on to write. I’ve changed my tune today/tonight. I want to see Everton dissappear from the Top Flight for ever. They’re a vile team with vile support.

COYR YNWA :+1:

He has fallen down about 10 times I really don’t blame Attwell for not giving it and I still don’t think it is one.

I see Jenas is saying the usual rubbish, “if they play like this” and “they know how to attack”.

Their performance wasn’t that good and all the chances they had summed them up, all wide or easy to save, their best was a spectacular 25 yard shot.

If I’m honest we were poor and then sank to their level, much better second half before the subs pushed us to a new level.

They hated Diaz running at them.

I remember Burnley they were garbage that night when they went out and attacked, and got two pens.

Matip on Gordon, I’ve seen them given, but glad it wasn’t. From our perspective it was strong defending.
Keane on Origi, I’ve seen them given, but it wasn’t. From Everton’s perspective Keane was strong.

Nothing to see here really. A couple of penalty shouts not given.

Everton went about their business like a less talented Atletico Madrid. Cynical as you like.

I couldn’t be happier that we beat them. They might have a problem now, Chelsea next, then Leicester. They might spend a little while squirming in the bottom three, hopefully to fall through the trap door at the end of the season.

Wheeee…. off yer pop.

I think you’re the first to mention that, definitely no contact. Sky conveniently ignored it.

I remember watching us play some of the old Eastern Block army teams in the 70’s and 80’s who had cheating and shithousery down to a fine art but can honestly say I’ve never seen anything as disgusting as that from those cunts today. Gordon and that Brazilian twat are without doubt the 2 biggest cheats in the league.
I don’t like Attwell one little bit but some credit to him today, he wasn’t buying any of their bullshit.
I’ll say one thing for Gordon, he’s got it down to a fine art for one so young, stepping across Matip and falling over like the bag of ugly shite he is.
Robbo MOTM not just for his goal but his clearance at 1-0, worth a goal in itself. Divock and Alisson my other choices, Alisson for his massive piss-take on that fucking prick in their goal.
Baffling there are still Reds who don’t want these to go down, they are fucking toxic in every way you can think of.

To be fair on Gordon he seemed to be suffering from an inner ear infection given his lack of balance.

I think quite a few of us have changed our mind after today’s pathetic display.

I have certainly joined @Commando and @TheSweetSilverSong on that score.

It feels like a re-run of 18/19 now. Good atmosphere again today but it started to get tense around the hour mark. It wasn’t obvious where the goal was coming from at that point. I was surprised there weren’t more changes in the starting line up. A few of the lads looked tired on Tuesday and we were definitely lethargic today.

Everton’s first half performance reminded me of Villa’s here in December. Stuart Attwell was ref that day as well. He is the sort of referee who thinks the way to stop time-wasting is to stop the game for a full two minutes so he can give a player a stern telling off about it. At least he didn’t fall for Gordon’s blatant diving. Although Everton’s play-acting and time-wasting was annoying the truth was we just weren’t playing very well. Didn’t look like scoring and weren’t even tiring Everton because we weren’t stretching them.

Diaz was an obvious sub. Origi less obvious but it did the trick. Another masterstroke from JK. I was chuffed for Robbo. He is often the driving force of this team when we are struggling or the levels have dipped a bit. Same again today. Ali’s Pickford pisstake brought the house down. Klopp’s fist pumps routine was more intense than ever. We still believe.
