Still, credit to the lads, our game improved during the second half after that abysmal first one. Leicester didn’t get any big chance anymore, and had Nunez and Mo had their scoring boots on, we would have won this 4 or 5-1.
Six points from our last two games, that’s not bad. Onwards and upwards!
We don’t even have to score against our ex manager and we get the points.
Seriously though not a good performance, midfield as open as a barn door, Trent, Thiago and Nunez stood out but Darwin still didn’t score.
A win is a win onwards and upwards.
Really quite poor, although we did tighten up towards the end when I had a horrible feeling we’d concede from one of their through balls.
Full of passion and effort, but just a bit sloppy and disjointed at times. And that’s just Darwin Nunez. He personifies this Liverpool team at the minute. When he starts banging more of these chances in, we’ll be looking that bit better.
Second half was better. Harvey was placed a further 10 yards back so could acutally help in linking up the play, as opposed to the first half, where he positioned mostly on the edge of the box when we were building possession, thereby the game flowing by him.
Missing chances is frustrating but that’s not the big issue really, it’s how easy we are to play against. Missed chances were what many focused on in 20/21 but it wasn’t suddenly becoming more clinical that turned us into a team that nearly swept up the quadruple.
We need to strangle opponents in the middle of the pitch again. Do that and every other aspect of our game improves with it.
