The No.17 came off at half-time in the Champions League win against Lille at Anfield.
Slot on January 21: “There was a moment in the game where he felt [something] and he said let’s play for five more minutes and then see how it is, but [then] he said he had to go off at half-time.”
I don’t think the Barcelona result is that significant. We may not get first place, but second at least is almost guaranteed.
Atletico have to make up an eight goal deficit.
In the long scheme of things, it might not make much of a difference but you know that neither Slot nor the players will want to give up the first place and they’ll be well up for it. We only need a point anyway.
What’s annoying is that Barcelona’s win guarantees that we will be going stronger than what we’d like.
Because that’s the mentality of top professionals in a top club. Slot and the players want to win every game, finish as high as possible. They aren’t going to roll over.
We are also in a tough fight for the PL and if Mo or Virgil break a leg in an essentially meaningless match it might be considered an unnecessary inconvenience.
I was saying that in the match thread. Infuriating. Celebrated like he’d no idea, when he’d just been standing offside of the 3 defenders right in front of them. Like a school boy who doesn’t understand the offside rule.
Other than that I thought he had a very good game. Was always a threat and defensive work rate outstanding. His link up play was better also.
Aaaaah, I’m not falling for that one. He was at Home with The Pixies dreaming of his last effort!!!
I don’t know if he was dreaming of his last effort, but he was dreaming of this song for sure.
Mind you, in the video Slot looks like he has aged 15 years from watching him stay offside.
Oh, and if Nunez stays past this summer (and I hope he does, to be clear), this should be his song.
