I’m not one to criticise referees but I honestly didn’t think that was anywhere near a penalty. Saying that why did it take until the second half for us to start playing any decent football. Think they can give the title to Arsenal now because they won’t slip up. I very much doubt that we will pick up any silverware and we need a big shake up. Don’t know if we can put our form down to Slot or the players attitude.
The ref determined the result. A penalty and a red card should have be given against the cheating cunts, regardless of how poorly we played for most of the game. Sick and tired of getting fucked over by the refs against these bastards.
That said, the game should still have been won but we managed the lead in the worst possible way.

Coaching the team to play better in the first 45 pretty much comes down to him.
Coaching the team to respond to our goal by sitting back is down to him.
Their goal and the Ali mistake don’t happen if we manage the last 10 better.
City complete a league double over us for the first time since 1937. In our underdog years of their oil money they couldn’t do this.

It just smacks of poor game management. He could slow the game down by doing that side to side shit, get some subs in to bring back some energy, keep the ball in the corner flag. So many fucking things he could do!
Robbo, Endo with a half decent coach those are perfect players to bring a 1-0 over the line.
Jones for Mac, Chiesa for Mo right after the goal could also have helped.

A bad Man City team as well. This wasn’t exactly the side Klopp had to compete with. Their record in 2026 was identically as bad as ours in 2026 yet they came to Anfield and completely dominated us for large parts of the game.

We played on the counter. There where several times City did cynical fouls when we had a chance to break (two in very promising positions).
Lack of yellows cards allowed City to be aggressive in the dark arts, which helped when they were chasing the game being one down.
Plus 50-50 calls going one way. The pen decisions reversed imo would still have resulted in a pen for City and none for us.
Not with the subs bench.

Meanwhile, the City penalty, yeah it’s a foul but no chance he gets a shot away from it. It’s gone out. I know I’ll get some flack on threshold but I can’t help feeling robbed.
I won’t comment on the whole game as I joined late. From where I started watching to Dom’s goal, I thought we were the better side. Afterwards not a chance. Too deep.

I do not disagree with some of the poor decisions by our players, I was literally screaming at the TV set maybe 5 or 10 minutes before half time (I was getting so riled up by Gakpo staring at the ball as if it’s his lover and not passing it quickly. Szoboszlai and Gravenberch had a few moments like that too. Not healthy for me!) Nevertheless, I thought a win, and at worse, a draw was still in the cards until our meltdown. But the men in blacks were not helping with their non-neutrality.

Yes , we were fucked over once again by the officials but we were also fucking woeful once again apart from a spell in the second half. The minute we sat off at 1-0 and started kicking the ball back to them from the full back positions , you knew exactly how it would turn out. Got what we deserved really.

Still, that roundtable was really good.
Fair enough maybe the Salah one could have been a red card. City’s is a clear pen, doesn’t matter it went out of play.
