Post match: Liverpool v Man Utd (EPL 17/12/23 4.30pm)

I think he meant shots per goal

Of course. It doesn’t make it any less a bad misdirection. IF he didnt have good stats per 90 those would be important. But he does. So they’re not.

Djimi Traore would be like prime Maldini if he played in Alan Kennedy’s day.

You are usually a rock of sense…but its Christmas and you are entitled to the occasional moment of madness.

Disappointingly this was the closest I got to a bite. Must have been too obvious :joy:

Ragged and imprecise Liverpool are flawed title challengers | Liverpool | The Guardian

All because we couldn’t score yesterday.

Can’t wait to see his face if we win the title (which we still will, refs permitting).

Maybe not so much disagree with, but a lot of the points are worded to suit the narrative the reporter is trying to portray.
It’s a lazy piece of journalism. How pointless is his opening paragraph? As @cynicaloldgit alludes to it is a piece pre-drafted, even a broken clock is right a couple of times a day.
So, Man Utd. Have openly admitted how poor they are and should be admired for their pragmatic approach. I am sure ETH would agree with his first comment and I am sure the fans will be on board with the later.

“Liverpool’s problem this season had been how often they go behind. They may only have let in 15, the joint-best record in the league with Arsenal, but an awful lot of them have been the first goal in a game; they’ve gone behind in nine of the 17 games so far, but have lost only one of those matches, picking up a remarkable 18 points from losing positions. This was the first time this season they’d failed to score – and, given they had 34 shots in the game, it can perhaps be written off as a freak.”

So is it a problem that we have conceded the least amount of goals (joint) and gone behind in 9 of the 17 games we have played, only losing one and In the process picking up 18 points from losing positions? I would rather (although my heart may disagree) go behind and win than go ahead and lose. Maybe he can write a piece on City dropping points from winning positions or Arsenal having numerous chances at Villa?

It’s Manures fault we drew the match as they didn’t score 1st.
