Post match: Liverpool v Man Utd (EPL 19/4/22 8pm)

Could it be classed as inciting a riot…
Face recognition cameras scanning the crowd as per normal…
Identify them retrospectively and either charge them ending in a hefty fine, or ban them from the ground in future…
Some club just needs to take the lead on this… it will eventually stop when enough of the scum realise there are consequences to their actions…

Of course. It is bang out of order.

But I’m wondering what basis we have for kicking them out?

There is a youtube video I saw recently of a bus leaving Old Trafford with Liverpool supporters chanting Munich and giving hand gestures so, as we well know, the provocation is not one sided…

Of course you did.
And of course thats wrong.

But it simply doesn’t excuse the behaviour of fans of either Manc clubs over the last week.

Did you find a more suitable synonym?

Yes… Manchester United

That’s a catastrophe*

It is possible to both savour the magnificent performances and at the same time feel aggrieved by the cheating that is allowed to fester. It’s not a binary thing.

Was this the one from 2018? I know there was a lot of media coverage back then but I can’t remember anything since. That’s not to say we don’t have our fair share of dickheads in our match going fan base. Every club does, but I don’t think we need to beat ourselves up over this. It’s been many years since I heard anything about Munich at Anfield. Cant speak about away games because I don’t go but surely the most offensive thing we sung at OT this season was ‘Ole’s at the wheel’.

I think the point about Yernited is that they sing that stuff every year, home and away, so it’s become normailsed . Same again on Tuesday. There was no provocation beforehand. In fact we’d just given one of their greatest players a standing ovation. It was the quietest they’ve ever been but the murderers chant came though load and clear. Eventually it will be seen to be as offensive as racist or homophobic chanting, It will take time but we will get there.

The Flying Pig’s reaction to the third goal is my favorite. He turns away in disgust and let’s put a massive anguished cry as though someone’s just shot his wife in front of him.

We caused that pain, lads. Lap this up because they sure as fuck did through the 90s and 2000s.

My mate who’s a Leicester fan is adamant that getting 80m for Maguire was a greater achievement than winning the league…

The folly of modern fans and banter. Leicester winning the league was akin to catching a shooting star whereas selling a lump for over the odds so same money can be spunked on a few other slightly smoother lumps really doesn’t register if you zoom out beyond a few seasons. The title season was Leicester’s never to be repeated amazing shot at glory - and they pulled it off. Even Leeds in 1992 was less a surprise plus they had an existing pedigree. Before the 2016 season Leicester’s ‘glory days’ were a couple of league cups under Martin O’Neill with Guppy and Heskey while finishing behind the likes of Ipswich town. Their league title will never be topped by them, imo.
