Come on now. Put those handbags away …peace and love please..
While what cologne says is true and wirtz has been lauded for his work rate, imagine it was not true what even is the extension of that? That we should only target and sign players on teams who currently press if we want our team to do it? Who do it from the same shape we do (whatever that is)? No, it’s just a tactic. It’s not ann inherent trait youre born with.
Undoubtedly this year we’re doing it poorly but I think focusing on the identity of the players is a misdirection. It’s far more of an issue of shape.
You haven’t watched our games then, when he has clinically finished chances and caused us problems.
3 goals and an assist in 5 games.
This I agree with, Isak without Wirtz will struggle he needs players to help create as a CF you cannot make a run as you never know when the cross or pass is coming in as both wide players first thought is to dribble and shoot.
I also think our slow possession is not helpful as there is little space for him to play or run into.
Does anyone else think …(.Isak)
because of his diva demands, on strike, and previous not training stance…he might be a disturbing influence on other members of the team…perhaps not directly…but just his prescence…just wondering…I k ow they are professionals…but it could be on their minds…
Agreed on the shape we press with 4 under Slot we did it with 3 under Klopp.
I’ve said this numerous times, with 4 pressing the opposition or pushing either a fullback into midfield or getting an attacker to drop in giving them an overload in midfield.
Slot always wants a plus 1 at the back so our deenders don’t follow a player or push into midfield to help out.
I also don’t see direction in our pressing which should be to force the opposition into areas to trap them or to allow possession to the other teams worst player on the ball, as they do with us and Ibou.
Couple of arrows missing here, no?
We need a 3D version then attach arrows from #11 and #18 going into row Z or the corner flag.
Nope, Virg did the same and wasn’t a disturbance
Reply to Flobs not you?

Isak is not a diva.
I don’t know how much Virg played up…but I’m sure it wasn’t like Isak…demands…I’m not…I want…and being the newby…
Gakpo and Salah are the biggest dilemmas we face, depressing watching them both get free passes into the side every week, I know what’s to come, you know what’s to come, 600 million Liverpool supporters worldwide knows what’s to come…but the one man who has the best view of them all, wants to wait to be proven right.
It’s like when Klopp kept persisting with Fab and Hendo in the middle for months, despite neither of them being able to press or track back.
When is the earliest we can release Mo to Afcon?
He might as well not have been on the pitch.
He wasn’t!
When is the earliest we can release Mo to Afcon?
In a season where the enjoyment is going to be found in seeing where this team team goes next, I am quite looking forward to AFCON.
Isak is definitely a disturbing influence on this forum.
The number of times I had to stand up late in the match to let people out who were leaving early.
That is a bad sign.
Tbh I was surprised how many stayed until the end. That said the silence during the second half and at the final whistle was more telling than a chorus of boo’s. It suggested to me a lot of people are resigned to the fact the manager is incapable of turning this around and will be gone by the end of the year.
Isak needs to get himself involved. It’s very difficult to get the ball into a forward who is just standing still right on top of one of the CBs. He has not built his reputation on a game based around hanging around the box waiting for chances his team mates create for him. It was built on being an all around footballer who does everything but right now he is WAY off the pace and the game is just passing him by.
Me and my lad have been having a small bet on what minute our CF gets his first touch of the ball.
There was a game last season where Nunez went the best part of 20 minutes. The faces have changed but the problem remains.

I thought Salah put a decent shift in yesterday, didn’t stop trying but we could have played all day and not scored, especially against defenders who actually want to do their job and not shirk tackles and blocks.
I don’t really agree Salah and Gakpo are our biggest dilemmas, the whole team is a fucking shambles from one end of the pitch to the other.
We’ve got an old man and a kid who can’t stay fit at FB and bought 2 shit FB’s in the summer. A fucking clown at CB and a bloke who Slot must absolutely hate as back-up, no wonder VVD looks a bag of nerves.
Slot has 3 go-to CM’s but likes to put 2 of them in defence every fucking game.
Gakpo’s back-up is a kid who can’t beat an egg and we have 2 CF’s who we have no idea how to use.
We’re a fucking basket case and I see no end to it.
This is revisionism. Klopp struggled the following season because he literally had no fit defenders and he still recovered enough to end up third with Williams and Phillips as his CB pairing.
Slot’s biggest problem is that he’s lost one CB and at times has had two RBs missing.
It’s an insult to suggest that the two situations are comparable or that the fans are fickle. No sane Liverpool fan turned against Klopp then because it’s crystal clear that he wasn’t the problem. Who can confidently say that about Slot now?
I am not comparing the two and if you read my post, the fickleness comment was not alluding to Klopp.
I referred to Klopp’s Title defence in a separate point and for context.
We were sitting in 8th place in March that season and finished 3rd by winning the last 8 or something, including a winner from our Goal Keeper.
Klopp’s team had been together for a number of seasons and had players in their prime. Only two 1st team signings that Summer and Tsimikas. No real departures.
Slot has lost 3 of the 5 attackers from last season, and Trent who was an important part in our style of play. Additionally one of his assistants.
Yes, you may point to the results towards the end of last season but I said to my mates after we lost to Newcastle and PSG that it was in affect the end of our season and a bit of an anti climax because we had nothing to really play for as the Title was pretty much won. When we won the Title under Klopp, our performances also dropped off.
As I said, I am not making excuses for Slot, He has got more things wrong than right recently but calling for him to be sacked after his first poor run of results, is in my opinion a bit OTT.

Agree. He looked really good for the first 30mins. Everything turned to shit after that but Mo and Dom were the two that still seemed to be trying
