Post match: Liverpool v Notts Forest (EPL 22/11/25 3pm)

Hopefully Isak is reading this.
Your advice is going to be so special to a top class professional footballer.

Yes it seemed to work for a while but I felt it collapsed into confusion after a while.
Honestly though I was just pointing it out as a factor of my interest in the tactical approach.
The interesting point is that Szoboszlai wasn’t ‘stuck’ at right back it was a joint effort. Many are making the point Szoboszlai was RB but it wasn’t as straightforward as that. I thought it another mistake even if it did lead to some interesting situations.
I feel we need to ‘simplify’ our positioning and responsibilities. It seems to me players aren’t taking enough responsibility so they need to be told what is what. Who has to pick up who and track them to death. Even look to play forward constructively rather than turning back to pass to the defence when it’s on … etc.

I personally saw him yesterday give up on situations he should have been chasing.

Macca only works in our midfield if Grav is sitting at 6 and Dom is marauding around as an 8. Otherwise he can look quite silly and inept.

Come on big boy!
I’ve asked you what you see in Isak and you hide behind this childish shit.
Out with it!

Are you sure you didn’t confuse the groaning noise with snoring?

The number of times I had to stand up late in the match to let people out who were leaving early.

That is a bad sign.

What’s people’s thoughts on certain players saving themselves for the World Cup. I’ve felt a bit cold with some comments in the past from certain players and ironically they seem to be the most underperforming at this point.

I don’t see it in the likes of Robertson who frankly deserves to hold himself up for the World Cup for all he has done but has this season not shown like he is holding up but others hmm.

I don’t know about that but Robbo was completely switched off for their third goal. By the time I could see where Robbo was (he was nowhere near the LB position for the free kick) the ball was in our net.
For all the blame Milos gets, some rightly so as getting caught up the field and having to have Virg face up to a cross, he tracked back diligently and put in more challenges than anyone else.

Also, have we collectively forgotten how to tackle?

It certainly is, it was particularly noticeable after the third goal went in.

Let him off this week playing every minute of Scotland’s games. Maca looked poor again and I’m not even sure he played for 2 weeks.

Like I said, Macca looks especially bad when he doesn’t have Dom and Ryan around him (which was most of the game). He did have Curtis around him but if anything Curtis got TOO close to him so it was easy for Forest to bypass both

I actually saw Gakpo bottle out of a 50/50, in the first half.

I see a top class striker, not fully fit and currently struggling.
I see a player who will come good, be important to Liverpool.

To be honest I don’t generally believe it but I thought I would throw it out there. Potentially one is angling for a move but the others not really.

Not just him as well…a lot of them were shying out of 50-50s for the whole match…I cannot remember how many successful tackles we made…

Ok but what makes you say that. What qualities does he have?
I haven’t seen the technique, movement, ability to challenge or strike a ball necessary for him to come good.
What have you seen from before he came to Liverpool that causes you to think what you do?
There’s not even the fight in him.

When I saw Isak was starting and us having no Wirtz , I thought what’s the fucking point ? Neither Gakpo nor Salah are ever gonna pass to him. He might as well not have been on the pitch.

You’re putting him down, so if you cant figure it I cannot help you.
He hasn’t torn the place up at Liverpool. But he has proven PL quality. Surely you have noticed?

Isak needs to get himself involved. It’s very difficult to get the ball into a forward who is just standing still right on top of one of the CBs. He has not built his reputation on a game based around hanging around the box waiting for chances his team mates create for him. It was built on being an all around footballer who does everything but right now he is WAY off the pace and the game is just passing him by.
