Just like Forest. People hadn’t even come back to their seats with their halftime pies and we conceded.
Yes the worrying thing is it didn’t inspire anyone else.
Sure individual demonstrations don’t serve any good we need a group reaction but it’s nice to know someone cares.
Good squad. Maybe unbalanced. A manager should get a tune or a reaction.
Who now?
I honestly thought he was not playing as he was not mentioned once, I couldn’t watch the game as I was busy elsewhere but at the end of the game when I saw the score I could not believe it, this was the team we nearly beat with a second string team. Konate should be benched from now on and to not be so ridiculous asking for eye watering wages. I would play Williams if he still plays for us and Ramsey until Bradley and Frimpong are back from injury.
Van Dijk was worse than Konate. From the very beginning, he looked like he was carrying the weight of the entire world on his shoulders and produced one of the most haphazard showings of his career. The ridiculous penalty, the yellow, his constant moaning at the ref and at his teammates all show that he wasn’t right mentally. Kerkez put on his usual headless chicken routine and got thoroughly beaten for their 2nd. Konate is good for at least one major fuck up every game now. Mac Allister spent the whole game either protesting to the ref or losing duels. Gravenberch had some good moments in possession but look where he is and how he reacts for their second goal. Gakpo a liability. Salah the same if not worse. Szoboszlai and Ekitike were the only ones who looked like they had a grip οn the game.
As for Slot, he might as well have been a bystander watching a train wreck. That’s how much of a help he was. He looked completely shocked with what was happening again. Not only he has made this team tactically horrible, but he also looks completely incapable of helping his players mentally. The pressure and the defeatism that sets in the moment something goes wrong are off the charts.
It really is quite unbelievable that a team this talented has unravelled to such an amazing degree.
I thought he took a job in Turkey?
Greece. It’s Panathinaikos.
Ah ok .
On further reflection, I don’t think we’ll solve this problem by firing the manager, unless someone tells me Klopp is coming back…
We have to grit our teeth, pull together, especially the fans at Anfield, and fight thru this…
I believe we’ll ride thru this. We have far too talented a squad and far too good a manager not to…
What is happening here to me is beyond tactics, substitutions, etc…
There was a period in this match before the 2nd PSV goal that we were dominating possession, but the football from us was sterile. I remember thinking that it was like the players were collectively having an outer body experience…
The popular narrative about firing a manager on a bad run hardly works, especially in the long run…
On this Thanksgiving Day, I’m especially thankful that we have a management team that in every circumstance, makes rational decisions.
Did Mo have one shot where he cut in on his left foot in a position that he enjoys and just blazed it over?
Although Cody missing the target from Szobs cross was criminal, he was scoring them last year and that is the 2nd sitter he has missed with his head this season
Yep and he didn’t just blaze it over, he missed by a long long way. How does Arne not see he shouldn’t be on the pitch?
Because hes still better than Chiesa or anyone else currently available.
All the Chiesa fan boys would have jumped all over Mo or Cody when he took that shot on which got blocked on edge of box when better option was to play Cody in down the channel.
Chiesa gets plaudits because at least he looks like he’s giving his best. Most of the time he’s charging about like a headless chicken though
He just isn’t. We have Isak, Ekitike, Gakpo, Chiesa and Rio plus Wirtz. Any of these deserve to be getting game time ahead of Mo this season. Slot will lose his job if he doesn’t recognised this and drop Mo.
In your opinion like mine is Chiesa looks terrible when he comes on.
Chiesa at least shows fight and determination and looks like he actually gives a fuck. Something severely lacking in this current team.
But hes shite.
My opinion is Chiesa isn’t in a good place. Well surely none of them are however for the person Chiesa possibly/probably feels more as he doesn’t get any game time. As well as feeling all the others do he feels he has to prove himself to the manager. For a player that’s been here as long as him and considering his age I think perhaps it’s too much for him. He tries to win the match single handed as soon as he gets on the pitch.
This is a situation that can only be described as poor man management. When we had Diaz, Jota and even Nunez this situation was explainable and probably something acceptable to Chiesa however as things stand it’s completely nuts.
I don’t think that’s true. He is very good at finding the net if given a chance. However without the chances it’s become complicated for him.
